I will admit, I have a cousin who entered a beauty pageant a couple years ago. She won, and I was proud of her. I was really proud of her and her mom for not making her up to look like a twenty year old *****. The only makeup she had on was a tiny bit of blush, some lip gloss...

I Can't Believe How Some Mothers Treat Thier Daughters!

When I was 5 my mom wanted to put me in one of this things. I didn't go because my father didn't believe in it. He said that I needed to be a kid rigt now cause before you know it I will be a teen, than an adult with kids of her own. I agree with him let those poor little girls...

    Disturbing In Many Ways

Too many to count really. We're all familiar with the most obvious things that are so distasteful...the spectacle of tarted-up children performing to satisfy some weird need in their mothers. It's the hideous pinnacle of mothers living vicariously - and competing - through their...

What I Don't Like About The Child Pageant World

There is nothing inherently wrong with children's beauty pageants. In fact, if they were done right, they could actually be a lot of fun, and a positive experience. It is just what adults turn them into. There is nothing wrong with getting dressed up in pretty clothes, being made...

    Child Exploitation

Like many of you, I strongly disagree in child beauty pageants, it was on a recent showing of Dr. Phil that really shocked me. There was a young girl not even old enough for high school, her mother made a website with photos of her daughter. Some of these photos were of a manner...

A Sick Exhibition Of No Common Sense

Are they really necessary? The slathering of makeup, on innocent faces. The constant feeling of rejection when they don't win. The skimpy fashions, on bodies that haven't fully developed yet. Are these parents crazy? Who knows if a ********* may be in the stands lurking...

I loathe children's beauty pageants. When did public opinion change? Has everyone forgotten little JonBenet Ramsey? After she died, people were so against them..and now they are embraced. I don't think anything good comes from forcing your child to forsake their normal childhood...

Childrens' Beauty Pagents have a possibility of  leading  to materilistic, self-absorbed, women. I believe that if you bring up a child believing that looks are everything, then that aint right! Life's more than a ton of make up, weave, teeth...

    For Goodness Sake . . . They're Kids!

I've participated in a few pagents myself and I can tell you, it is hectic. The preperation, the stress, the butterflies; I can't imagine a child having to endure all that. I also think that the parents are the winners, not the children. They probably have no idea what's going on...

    Education Before Beauty

I think mothers should spend more time making sure their child has a good shoulder on her head, make sure she gets an education, encourage reading and writing, maths all that stuff rather than this pointless crap. And hey if the girl grows up first and wants to do beauty pagents...

I've never agreed with child beauty pageants. Kids grow up fast and I think you should let kids be kids while they still can be. This is just my opinion but if you put a kid in a pageant and it didn't win any of the times up put one in one wouldn't they get some kind of complex...
