I Do Not Mind Going to the Cinema By Myself

If you love seeing films on the big screen so much that you don't mind going to see them alone, this is your group... welcome! 275 People

    I love going by myself.

I can laugh (or tear up) and no one is looking at me weirdly or covering their faces or pretending to change seats. I can just take in the movie and stay as long as I want when the credits start rolling. There is no one else to think about. It is AWESOME! I recommend it...

    The Muppets

i went to the theater by myself to see the latest Muppets movie. It wasn't like the originals... but maybe i'm too cynical. i liked it... and i liked not being responsible for anyone else.

    It's extraordinarily thrilling

because it feels like I'm skiving off... even if I had nothing better to do (◦ >﹏<。)~♡

    I have friends, I mean,

what cheerleader doesn't, but the occasion on which I go to the theatre, I go alone. I like my alone time, especially when there's like only 7 people in there, that's how I like it. Then I can just enjoy the movie, on my own.

I don't mind going on my own.

...the first time I did I thought everyone was staring at me! it's not a regular habit of mine but if I feel like escaping mentally I find it relaxing going to a movie on my own and there's no need to go "which movie do you want to watch" "oh I don't mind... any one" it's just...

I love going to the movies alone.

I don't always get the opportunity (people tend to invite themselves and it isn't a huge deal), but when I do, I almost always enjoy the movie--no matter how terrible it is. I don't know why.

    I Prefer It Actually

If I go to a movie with my friends, I end up getting distracted because most of my friends are loud and tend to crack jokes through the film. So I don't mind going by myself at all.

Worked in theatres for a decade.

.lots of people come alone on a regular basis, but many people still thinks it's strange to do so.

    Adds To The Magic

Whenever I go to the movies with friends, we always get shushed and sometimes even kicked out. Its fun and all sometimes, but going by yourself is a great experience. i believe that movies are a way to show the magic in life, something everyone always forgets. Just my opinion.

    Big Mistake!

I have been going alone to the movies since I was in my teens. I enjoy the whole experience. Personally, I couldn't care less what people around me are thinking because I have a really good time.  I usually make it a special day out...do some shopping, have a lovely lunch...

I especially like when I go alone,

and there are only, like, two other people in the theater. Then I just have my pick of seats, and I feel like they're showing it just for me, and I basically forget that anyone else is in the room. Oh yeah, that's how to live. ;D

Although It Can Get You In Trouble, Ask Peewee Herman.

But seriously, I don't understand people who are perfectly fine watching a movie by themselves at home but totally uncomfortable watching a movie NOT by themselves at a theatre where 9 times out of 10 you're NOT actually alone.  Is it just me?

    Love It!

Before this year - I would never go to a movie alone - I just thought it would be to embarressing. But this year a movie came out that I really wanted to see and no one else wanted to go to this particular movie. So I was like "You know what? F** it, Im going by myself". It...

    Werewolves, Vampires And Transformers

It is pleasant to go to a movie by yourself every now and then. People are kind of surprised to see you alone, but then it opens the doors to meeting new friends and having interesting conversations... or just enjoying time with yourself and your thoughts. The last time I went to...

    I Went Today..

Today i went to the cinema by myself to watch Taken 2. I was going to go a few weeks ago with a few of my friends. They told me they were going on Tuesday but then they went on Monday. But it's nice to go to the cinema by yourself sometimes. There's no one there to talk to you so...

& I Don't Quite Enjoy It Any Other Way

The last time I went to the movies with some guy or a school club, we NEVER got to sneak into another movie. There's always some excuse like "I'm hungry, let's go eat" Ugh! Ok. I know, I know it's wrong to not pay for a movie, but oh well the tickets are damn expensive! & I'm a...

    Is This A Problem?

Whenever I mention going to the movies alone, people look at me funny like there's something wrong with it.  "Why don't you take somebody with you?" they may ask.  What I wonder is...why take someone with you?  Why does it make any difference whether or...

I remember years ago I went to see the movie Seven alone. I was raised by my mom who is very co dependent. She never does anything alone. Well I am the complete opposite. I dont need anyone to hold my hand in order for me to do it. That movie was awsome! Now I go to the movies by...

    Why Would I

I am single and there are times I want to go see a movie that is out in a theater. Why would I not go just because I have nobody to go with. Going to a theater and watching a movie solo is just fine. It's not like when I go to a movie I sit there and talk to whoever I am with...

I won't tell you that I love you,

if I do not truly mean it. I can't say I love you. I'm catching the bus tomorrow, maybe I'll see you then. I'd be tilting my head back, looking out at the world and see you, standing there. In the quiet of the crowd. I don't know what you're doing, all I know is that it's not...

    I Have Never Minded, Actually.

I do go to the cinema with friends too, of course. But I really don't mind going on my own. Usually, I go on my own either because no one else wants to see the film I want to see, or everyone is busy, or I simply suddenly fancy going, so I go right there and then. Simple. The...
