    You Can Too!

I started donating blood after 9/11, and, excuse my tooting my own horn, but I recently got my five-gallon pin. I've always felt it was important to donate, but when my mom needed 10 or 11 blood transfusions during the last year of her life, that really brought the point home...

I used to but I am now too old to be allowed to

do it. I am not only sure it helps other people but I think is is good for one's health. Centuries ago blood letting was a major treatment for lots of things.

    Hells Yeah

About once in three months, I go with my friends to the local blood donation spot (what is it actually called?) and we chat, ferociously abuse the change to eat free food and lighheartedly tease the needle fearing members of our small group. And donate blood, of course. It's so...

I'm never sure how many of the EP members are in North America, and how many are elsewhere. I am in the UK and over here blood donation is a voluntary thing. I suspect you can just walk into major hospitals and donate but the most familiar way of giving is to wait for the...

Matter of fact I'm donating a double helping of

red blood cells on Wed. I'm not a huge fan of the needle, but I'm not afraid. I always ask the people if anyone's fainted lately. Cracks me up. Actually, even more than the needle in my arm, I hate when they ***** the very tip of your finger.

Donating blood does a number on me.

It leaves me weak and tired, and it also makes me feel colder than a block of ice. It's so draining, but I love doing it. I can save so many lives by donating blood.

I have given loads of times.

Once, as a young man, I was pathetic, and truly fancied the checkout girl at the supermarket. Of course, I never let on, or asked her out or anything, I just imagined her in my room. She disappeared, then one day, when I was giving blood, she turned up as the receptionist in the...

I've been donating blood for the last 25 years, whenever my company holds a blood drive. I've always loved the idea that I could be helping someone that is in desperate need. Well, last year during the spring blood drive, the nurse was checking my vital signs. I noticed that...

I am proud to say that I donate blood. I'm on their call list whenever they are in my town. In Canada, you don't get paid to donate blood. That's ok since I would never accept it. I am doing it for personal reasons. Trust me.... I don't have a love affair with needles. I...
