I Don't Like It When People Yell Or Speak Too Loud

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,049 People

    I noticed this isn't a popular topic

but thought I'd post here again anyway. I've always been a peace keeper in the family. I dislike arguing unless I feel I not allowed to voice my opinion. I don't show my anger often but if I do it's something big or it's been festering for a while. I prefer civil conversation...

    Yelling scares me. It causes

so much anxiety for me that I just freeze. I don't like to yell and I really don't like it when others yell. Especially at me! I have my mother to thank for that. Years of abuse will do that.

    I'm hypersensitive to noise,

so of course I have the noisiest class in my year. They're always yelling, holding conversations with people on the other side of the room and mocking the teacher. It's like they don't understand the meaning of shut up.

    Sorry, I Didnt't Hear You .....

could you scream a bit louder ... there must be something wrong with my hearing, and that last bit ...   DUH! Don't people realise that as soon as you loose your temper, you lost the argument? The only way to win an argument is to stay cool, calm and collected .. a clever...

I'm not sure why. In general,

loud noises bother me a lot, especially loud voices. They give me headaches and make me feel a bit overwhelmed. I like soft voices, the gentle slow ones. They're so warm and soothing like a warm rain or some wind. Even in music, I'm particularly finicky on the singer's voice...

Two of my friends and I every Wednesday night

go to a local diner to have a burger and talk about the week and other things. But for some reason a large group of what I assume we're high schoolers came in. I just have to say, if you are telling jokes or laughing at them, please stay in your seat and chuckle. You don't need...

Today I was on an elevator leaving my Doctors

office. I was headed down to the first flr from the 3rd, when the elevator door opens, this woman in what seemed a loud & confronting type of tone says "Are You going down"? I was the only one on the elevator, however her tone really startled me. It was the WAY she said...

I have a very hard time with loud talkers.

It's not just the volume, but I feel like they want everyone to notice them and that bugs me!

unless it's my own music I'm playing in my personal space. It's also really irritating talking to someone with a very loud voice. The worst are females with high pitched squeaky voices!! 🤐

Why do poeple think being louder equals more

comprehensible? Unless I couldn't hear it the first time you have no reason to yell. Yelling make us angry and then we yell too and it stops being a conversaiton, more like a volume duel. This is the capslock of real life and it shouldn't be allowed.

    Calm and Cool

I have noticed, in recent years, that if you are calm and speak softly, even when people are screaming at you, you maintain way more control of the situation and will be way more likely to not have it escalate into an all out screaming war. This was something I had to learn...
