I Don't Own a Scale

    Bad For My Health

It's really easy for me to obsess over things.  And considering the years I spent dancing with anorexia, my weight is one of the biggies to obsess over.  If I had a scale, it would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy for me to fall back into old bad habits.  So I avoid the problem...

You Are So Much More Than Numbers On a Scale.

In a world were body image is highly overrated, women can become obsessed with the number on their scale. But did you know that your scale could really be off!? I say throw that scale out and watch your body for signs of wear and tear. If you need to tone a few areas then do so...

Firstly it was for recovery reasons, in that I had an obsession with weight loss, now it is a voluntary action.  I can always tell if i have put weight on if my jeans are too tight or alternatively if they are too loose know i have lost some.

    No Reason

I am comfortable with my body.  I know when I look good, and it has nothing to do with how much I weigh.  I am really glad that I've never been obsessed about my weight.   Depending on bone structure, heredity, etc. a healthy weight is different for everyone...

I'd only have to replace it each time I threw it out a window... better to not have one at all. OH but when we did I kept it in the kitchen... yeah talk about tough love

I don't own a scale because if I did, I know I would obsess. I refuse to let a little needle or digital number decide how I feel about myself...I have enough things to worry about in my life than whether or not I've gained/lost a pound or two.

Best Thing I Could Have Done For Myself

My therapist suggested that I stopped weighing myself last summer. It was difficult at first, but now I feel so incredibly free it's amazing. I don't even want to know what I weigh because the number distracts me from normal thinking. The reality is that weight is just a number...

I Don't Allow a Scale In My Home

I have a wife and 2 daughters.  We eat right, and I encourage regular exercise.  We don't use a scale, because weight is irrelevant.  Muscle weighs more than fat.  It's all about looking healthy/good, not the numbers on the scale.

    More Baggage Than It's Worth

It's just another thing I don't need to tie myself in knots about.  There's more to me than the big number below my feet when I use a scale (when I do step on one, it often reveals that there is more to me than there used to be), and I won't allow myself to be reduced...

Don't Have One and Never Will

A number is a number.  It doesn't change how heavy or thin you are.  I don't like to look at the numbers, it depresses me.  If I like how my body looks, I see no need to care what number is on the scale.  I diet for a certain shape to me, not to reach a...

    Speaking Of Baggage ...

...this is a bit off topic but I wish I had a scale now so I can weigh my luggage to keep within the overseas direct flight baggage limits...but thats it. I weigh what I weigh and how I feel about it is more important  than what the scale reads...yikes! And...

even though I'm in weightwatchers, i'v never felt the need to have one of my own. I mean, why should i weigh myself when, i already do once a week? and even before weightwatchers, i never felt compelled to own one......hmm

    Useless Measurement of Worthiness

I know I'm under 55 kgs (121 lbs) at any given time, which frustrates me, because I actually want to -gain- weight. I can't stand up anyway, so it would just gather dust. If another person claims I'm anorexic, I'll scream. I eat veggie diets and I'm working all day long, burning...
