I Don't Think a College Degree Always Indicates Intelligence

While I am a firm believer in higher education,

I have worked with some college educated colleagues who could not even write a paragraph using complete sentences, much less practice correct grammar or punctuation. I cannot help feel embarrassed for them or their alma mater.

There is fine thin line between knowledge

and education. Once you comprehend this line, you can balance both; because we are well aware of the fact that 'Intelligence is not the ability to store information for time being and forget it later.' While I had been away from education for quite some time, my passion for...

    Child Like Intelligence

It makes me wonder that the ones who are intelligent are the ones who appear innocent and who are like children.   They look at life as if they dont know anything or barely anything.  It mgiht be like the empty cup story ,  that inorder to see things clearly we need to...

Chris Rock dropped out of high school

when he was in the 10th grade. In my opinion, he is one of the most brilliant comedians and social commentators we have right now. I am in college, a very selective and prestigious college in my area, and I want to get my four-year degree and then continue my education as long...

I concur but I think it does indicate

perseverance and a desire for a better life, well at least in my case lol I am not loving school but I do it because apparently that's what society deems necessary for a "successful" future (for those of us that aren't genius material) *just another sheep*

    it is refreshing to find

such a group as this in these days. I know a degree does not equal intelligence. I have been to college and associated with many people with initials behind their names. These people often look down on others who do not possess their qualifications. In my opinion, a degree is...

    I have a college degree

I think intelligence is gained mostly from life

    College Student, It Is.

I had a stressful day today and we'll be looking forward to more stressful days. I really don't get it. Why do they have to give such health-deteriorating assignments and projects. I know that they'll really be of help but please, what I'm asking here are real life solutions and...

    How True Is This

There are many people with degrees that lack intelligence. Obtaining a degree simply means that you have the ability to regurgitate information. Tertiary education is no longer about critical thinking and questioning. Obtaining a pass is achieved by providing the lecturer what...

    I never went to college,

but I don't think that makes me less intelligent than some people who have. I have known college educated people who can be ignorant and lack common sense. Intelligence is not based on how many degrees you have, it's about what you know and how you utilize that information.

A college degree no longer has true meaning,

or intrinsic value. A college degree does not mean what it used to mean; it does not hold the same weight. Looking back 40 years ago or so, the amount of people with college degrees made up a small percentage of society. Therefore, a college degree was more meaningful because it...

This is so true and I'll explain why.

A diploma is just a sheet of paper or back in the day goat skin. It has no true indication of anything but a person can memorize and spew out what they are supposed to at a certain time. Intelligence is what shows a person can take date and state an educated, non-emotional...

    I've noticed how there's

Nope. I don't personally know people with

In fact, I think a college degree makes you

conform to certain standards and norms... and cliffs and sams... What employers want these days is someone that thinks outside the box. According to a couple tests, I already do that.

Definitely agree! I am in college myself,

I believe a degree is only a tool you can use

to make getting a job easier... it's not really a measure of your intelligence.. yes most people with degrees are intelligent, but they were the same before they got it... people can be intelligent in many different ways and intelligent people can come from anywhere
