I Dread the Holidays

    I Don't Dread Them.

I don't dread them, a part of me, the childlike, ignorant, innocent part of me deep in there still looks forward to them, and expects it to be happy. It's not, they depress me. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter even, I secretly expect it to be better than last year, and...

Firstly, I hate the commercialism The christmas displays this year won hands out on getting into the windows before the Halloween displays.  The advertisments on television are advancing how you can buy christmas out of the back of a truck this year...

    Alone This Year

I used to love the holidays. I don't know what happened. As the years progressed, I grew less and less enthusiastic about this time of year. Please, don't get me wrong. I love this time of year for other reasons and holidays in general aren't so bad. It's a nice time to celebrate...

I only dread one. my favorite holiday.

Christmas. had a nervous breakdown one year and avoid it like it does not exist. I remember loving to give and just be being with the joy of the of the world. my past is so in my future that it is truly makes one sick. almost.

    Holiday Hate

I used to love the holidays. The smell of turkey on Thanksgiving, waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve, watching colorful fireworks on the fourth of July, and basically almost every holiday my family celebrated I enjoyed. However, when I was around eleven years old, I...

It´s That Time Of The Year Again........

Well, actually this year it has started even earlier. I saw Christmas merchandise in September and by mid-October Christmas was in full bloom in all the stores and shopping centers. People feel compelled to buy, buy, buy, even if they get trampled at the door on Black Friday...

My mother died in Jan of 2013.

My father is dating a woman that hates me. I cooked for 2 days to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. He didn't even wait for me to finish eating before he got up and left. He had yet to return home. She has her own family that she could spend time with, why is she stealing my father...

    Just Not Feeling It..

the past few seasons have not really been that super. I just can't get my enthusiasm up anymore. I realize more and  more that during and after the season i get hit with a mega-wave of depression. It happens EVERY year. I  only consciously realized it last year. Of...

    MY WAY

I really hate the commercial craziness of the holidays. I find it ridiculous how people ruin the occasion by turning it into a shopping match forgetting the true meaning of the festivities. I hate how rude people are at the stores, the supermarket, the roads, because they are...

I Can't Face It This Year

I had to make the dreaded weekly trip to WalMart yesterday,...I despise that place, yet I shop there because in my town there really is no where else. Anyway, I was shocked that it is already decked out in Christmas trees, poinsettias and Christmas songs blaring from the speakers...

I hate being all alone on the holidays because it is depressing. One or two here and there would be okay but because of situations in my family I am usually all alone eating deli turkey sandwiches on most holidays.

    I Hate 'em

Most holidays are about families and loving, right? I hate that since it seems like each holiday, you are expecting to spend a lot of money, or buy gifts. I come from a distant family and I really have no money. When Christmas comes around, my mother yells at me for not having a...

I Dread the Holidays, But I'm Not Really Sure Why.

I must admit, I have wonderful memories of holidays as a child.  I come from a fairly small, but close knit family.  My parents are still alive and still very much in love - they have been married for 52 years.  My 2 sisters, my brother and I are all in good...

    Not Ready To Move On...yet.

I've written here before about my current battle with depression. It took me many, many years to finally realize that I am living with this affliction. My world had to very nearly end before I was forced to face the truth & to finally find the strength to ask for help. My...
