    An Acquired Taste

I've drunk Guinness for 35 years. You definitely have to acquire a taste for this stout  beverage. I liked it from the first sip. Some like to cut it half and half with regular beer. A dark and tan beer is the result. I like it straight on draft or bottle. If...

of stouts this week.  I was surprised that they had Guinness on tap at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati when I visited on Friday. I do tend to think that $7.75 is a bit much for a beer considering I can still get 4 cans for about the same price. But then the fact...

    "i Drink Guiness"

"I  Drink Guinness"  Guinness,  aaahhh,  the tonic, liquid goodness, ... memories of a time  Guinness was advertised with the slogan "Guinness is good for you". Well ,most people who drank it, had their own reasons for drinking it, and still...

Yeah, there has to be more Guinness drinkers out there. There's probably more people out there wearing Guinness apparel on EP that actually drinks it. Too bad for them. More for me.

You Never Forget Your First Time

I was nineteen years old and working in a bar on the outskirts of London the first time I had Guiness. It wasn't a popular drink in that pub and I was surprised one when one of our regular bitter drinkers asked for a Guiness instead. When I asked why he said "It's cold outside...

    Now In Cakey Goodness

The little goth shop I patronize has gotten a new neighbor: a little bakery. I stopped in today and found that they're a wonderful neighbor.  Best of all, they offer a Guinness cupcake!  Guinness is mixed into one of their different chocolate cupcake recipies as...

I Won't Drink It Just Anywhere...

No. I never drink a guinness at a hotel bar, or a club, or actually any bar where I don't see a few patrons already throwing back pints. I am very particular when it comes to drinking guinness. Having pulled pints in Dublin for a summer during college, I have the right to be...

    My Favorite Beer

One day, I decided to figure out which beer is my favorite. I knew the top four, but I'd never done myself an official "taste test" between them. The contenders are: Corona, Newcastle, Sam Adams (original), and Guinness Draught (Guinness Stout is too heavy--I feel full after the...

I am Irish therefore it is a sin for me not to be seen to be drinking Guinness.  However, I really do not believe that Guinness travels well at all- and therefore think all fans have to experience an Irish Guinness.

It's the best beer in the world.

Love the stuff. Been drinking it since I was about 7yo when my granny would let me sip it from her glass on a sunday. I love how it kills a thirst instantly and that first mouthful going down is just divine. YES I AM IRISH :)

    Guinness Stew

Made this yesterday and it was amazing. I tweeked the recipe a little; little heavier on the guinness and lighter on the wine. I've used other recipes; this one's the best. 1/4 cup olive oil 1 1/4 pounds well-marbled chuck beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch pieces (NOT extra-lean...

    Actually, I Like Most Imports

Guinness is not a particular favorite but it is good so it is in the closely crowded field at the front of the pack. Mexican, Dutch, German, Irish, Chinese (I don't think I have had Japanese and do the Italians or French brew beer?) - like them all.

I am not sure when I had my first Guinness, but ever since then it has been one of my favorite beers. I don't know if there is another drink out there that evokes as many images of where it came from as Guinness does, and maybe that is why I enjoy it so much. Every time I pour a...
