When a Car Costs As Much As a House...

because the capitalists pay the knuckledraggers more than they pay their educators; something is wrong - 30K for a car - insane! My old Caprice does what it must, what I want and what needs to be - and cost me $1500. What more needs to be said?

    …that First Crash

I was about 17 years old when I made my first shrewd car deal. I traded a sheepskin coat for a 1955 Volkswagon Sunroof Beetle with a mere 200+ thousand miles on the clock. I knew this was a shrewd deal because all it needed was a motor rebuild, paint, tires, a new top, brakes...

    I Didnt Realize How Old...

It never dawned on me that the newest car we have is a 1999. I drove a friend's brand new car the other day and it was that moment I realized how old our vehicles are lol. A lot has changed since 99 I dont have touch screen navigation and sound system or any of that. I could...

    Over 200,000 Miles...

... and I still take it on trips across the country. Why not.  It's fully paid for, gets 35 to almost 40 miles per gallon and requires little maintenance. I'll give you a few guesses as to what brands it's not.

People knew that, and they also knew I poked fun at them because they drove new cars. I could afford something shiny, like my colleagues, but that was a waste in every way.  Until now I had a couple of dozens of cars.  I use them for one year moreandless and I use...

If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It

My car is over 10 years old now, but I don't do many miles and it's always been reliable, touch wood. Better the devil you know...

    I Do

I drive only older cars, my wife drives the newer cars. I personally have a 68 Dodge Coronet R/T, a 70Plymouth  Road Runner, a newer 90 Dodge Pick-up and a 97 Harley. I would much rather have a older car that I can work on, fix, and modify myself. I don't want to have someone...

    Who Says It's Old?

Maybe it's just me, but when I think of "old" cars, I think of cars from the '70s or whatever that have paint jobs that don't shine and just look like banged up slabs of scrap metal. However, I've seen a lot of "old" cars (by today's standards) from the '80s and '90s that look...

First Liar Doesn't Stand A Chance...

OK, you guys asked for this. I drive a 1984 Ford F-250 4X4 Diesel and utility bed with over 650,000 miles on most of her components. I had overhauled the engine maybe 10 years ago. Have repainted her three times. Just put a new set of Michelin tires for her Christmas gift. She...

I just got my grandfather's 1977 Marquis back

from the body shop. It looks fantastic. It's silver now, not grey.

    What's Old?

I drive a '97 that I bought new. 156,000 miles on it. I pretty much drive all my cars in to the ground. For three years I drove a car with no heat. In northern Indiana. In the winter.
