My father's side of the family is from Syria

so he passed down the tradition of how to make true middle eastern food. I have to say, my family's recipe for hummus could get me a fortune! that stuff is addicting!

I am very interested in trying new Ethnic foods.

I have recently tried Indian spinach paneer for the first time and it was amazing as well as Lebanese food! I would love to try many different foods from all over the world to get the full cultural experience of each place.

    Oh, No! Shrimp Stew!

In Hawaii, ONO means GOOD. Well, this guy named frank had some buddies he expected over and he waited and waited, the humidity in Hilo, Hawaii making him want to take a shower, so leavinghis door open, he took his shower and left the stew on the stove, turned off to wait for his...

    ...but Not All Of It!

As my title says-not all of it. Some of it is just nasty and makes me sick-like Vietnamese-I walked into the restaurant and the smell made me sick.

Now then Irish stew! You can't beat a good

Irish stew! Don't forget the Guinness! Oh, and fish with potatoes and peas! Yum! Ok, yes the seafood is gritty at times, but do as the French do and add a little garlic!

    Pau? A Hawaii story

When we first came here we were invited to a luau put out by some locals and the head guy kept coming back to our table. "Pau?' he asked, and then would ask it again a few seconds later. I thought he meant to hurry up as I knew it had something to do with that and so told my kids...

Variety Is the Spice of Life, They Say...

I love trying new foods.  Among my favorites are: Ethiopian (especially the vegetarian stuff).  They serve it on a sort of pancake called Injara or something like that.  It has a slightly sour taste.  You don't use forks and knives, you tear a piece of Injara...

    A Very Offended Lady

In Hawaii, "pupus" mean snacks and a very fancy lady just fresh off the cruise ship was very offended to be asked if she wanted some pupus at a luau."How DARE you ask me that!" She thought it was something you stepped in, not to be eaten! Ha ha. Jo

    I love divisity in food,

in people in culture in everything, because that's what makes it interesting otherwise it would have been boring. I have enjoyed different kind of food from different culture. As I said I love and appreciate divisity in everything.

    The joys of eating, Italian,

Mexican , Thai , Indian , Chinese , southern style biscuits with sausage gravy, real Devonshire tea, all have their moments. And the occasional American chilli dog with cheese. Can't think of one I don't enjoy.
