    Nothing like beautiful weather,

walking through the grass barefoot and working in the yard. Spent my afternoon pulling weeds and beautifying my herb gardens and flower beds. That is how i relax and release stress. It was wonderful finding the motivation to get into the yard. Hmm.... Smiling very brightly to...

My first year of having a flower garden

and it's doing amazing. I'm so shocked I even brought some back from the dead. LOL Egg shells do wonders to keep the slugs and snails away. In my opinion overcast days are the best days to do yard work. And yes, I enjoy pulling weeds and dead heading.

    Gardening Anywhere ...

I am enjoying my gardening, even tho I'm living in a rented house. Lots of my plants are in containers, as I have this (NOT deluded) notion that I am gonna be able to buy (share ?) a house, and plant the stuff in the ground. Just about everything grows better in the ground...

We Need To Put In The Effort

We reap what we sow. How true it is. If we take the time to invest in something useful the rewards are there to reap. The reward may not be monetary but can be very pleasurable. I spend time in my garden, spring, summer, autumn or winter. They like us need care. I love my...

    Gardening Mishaps

My worst experience associated with gardening with a large garden fork occurred when I was not looking at what I was actually doing. The result was I pushed that large fork through my left foot, that is through the shoe as well. I ended up in hospital getting stitches. Then my last...

I have come to the conclusion that slugs are Mother Nature's tax collectors. After all it's her dirt, her rain, her sun, and ultimately, it was her seeds. She's just trying to recoup expenses by getting her share. That being said though, I hate paying taxes.

Gardening Is Relaxing But So Rewarding

Hello. I sit eagerly all winter for spring too arrive. The new sprouting's from your bulbs you planted the year prior, start showing themselves as they slowly creep out of the soil. It always makes me feel good too stand on my deck and look at how pretty the yard and flower beds...

    Hard to Beleive!

I remember as a kid enjoying the garden with my mother.  She had a real green thumb and I so enjoyed seeing things grow.  As a young man, in my first house, I had a small garden, but when I moved, I never had a garden again until last year. I have a huge garden...

Okay, I am not sure I like gardening,

but I think I will. I have always lived in a city pretty much and not much opportunity to have a garden or grow much. I did house sit for a friend who had a garden and took care of watering and taking care of her tomatoes and I enjoyed it. I am not living somewhere with some...

    Love Getting My Hands Dirty

As an adult, I have always had a garden. I can grow marvelous plants anywhere, even in the hot, dry, desert sun. When I lived in California I had a Japanese themed garden that filled my yard. In Las Vegas I had a square foot raised garden bed where I supplemented...

One of my favorite gardening activities is collecting seeds.  Last week I collected some seeds from crown vetch that is growing in a ditch near where I work.  I wasn't sure I had seed at first because the seeds are in a cluster of spikes and the seeds are...
