There was this trans-gendered female to male (pre-op for those who don't know the term) and he made the comment that he lost his virginity to a girl and well he still had female sex organs. That made me think. So I asked a girl I know who is a lesbian and she said that she still considers herself a virgin. What I am wondering is what others think about this.... If it is a personal feeling then can a heterosexual sexually active person say they are a virgin??? What about gay men???

With homosexual people, even if they have had many sexual encounters with people of the opposite sex, are they a 'homosexual virgin' until they have had a sexual encounter with someone of the opposite sex? Is virginity based purely on the sexual act or the type of act or a mindset? I suppose its also traditionally different for men than women becuase for a woman it was about loss - the loss of their innocence. For men it was about conquering their inexperience. If a virgin is raped does that mean that she is no longer a virgin?
