In an ideal world I would live in a wooded area

with nearby trails and wildlife close by. Nothing compares to the sense of peace and tranquility you get when surrounded by nature. The next best thing for me is to just simply be outdoors. Even surrounded by homes and cars going by occasionally, I get a sense of relief by...

    So on Christmas Day,

after a large meal and before the sun retreated for the night, I took a walk in the forest next to my house. The leaves were knee deep in spots, the air crisp and cold, the sun beaming off my back. With each step through the crunchy leaves I smiled. Despite all of my whining...

Bare feet were made for nights like this,

when the rain seems to fall from the stars themselves. There is no thunder, only distant lighting, but it is friendly enough. The moisture clings to the warm summer air, steam rises from the pavement and my feet make short-lived patterns on the puddles. The rain is gentle...

so peaceful. I like especially landscape paintings tradictional to Asian cultures. Being out in nature on a nice day is even better. Hiking mountains with amazing wild life is something that makes me smile, one can feel all the worries of the world melt away.

    I think it's a more complete peace.

Indoors, I can feel peaceful in an old library or a candlelit room. It's a cozy and comforting peace. Outdoors, it's a peace that walks hand in hand with freedom and connection. Exhilarating and soothing all at once. Alive. Me.

My island is experiencing some volcanic activities. Over 150 small earthquakes in the space of 16 hours! People are on alert and even though Seismologists are asking that we not panic, it's rather hard to keep calm with so many tremors in certain areas and other activities. So...
