I write to a few. Used to write to James Michael Munro, Harrison Graham, and Douglas Clark. Now I only write to Phillip Carl Jablonski and Jack Trawick, though I am attempting to establish correpondence with Ed Kemper, he's very selective, so I've heard....

Although writing to serial killers is very interesting  these people do enjoy playing mind games,i have found these people dont feel emotions in they way we do ,they feel no guilt or remorse for their victims(although they might pretend they do to get a desired reaction)and replay their crimes or imagine killing their penpals especially when they get photos!

They like to pull you into their world and these people are very clever and very good at pushing all the right buttons ,they send sweet letters and you can hardly believe that they have killed or even hurt a fly...before you know it you feel you have a special connection and you tell them all your feelings and they pretend they care and they will use this to get everything they can for their own satisfaction.

Please dont think i am trying to scare you,or stop you being penpals....i am just asking anyone who does to be very strong and keep your wits about you!xxx

My best friend from lawschool writes, calls and visits inmates on death row.  When she was pregnant, she called the one inmates mother, cousins, and sisters to tell them.  She still visits them.  One time, she give a killer my address to be a pen pal.  I was like"uhhh no"

I actually wrote to a few. I wrote to Charlie Manson, and trust me...You don't really want to write to him. His letters are all jibberish and sloppy and almost impossible to read!! Then I wrote to David Berkowitz, and he kept sending me pamphlets about getting saved and preaching to me! And I wrote Richard Ramirez, and he was so obsessed with the damn devil it was unreal..He asked me if I was willing to sell my soul to get anything I wanted..Yeah, ok..Like, it really worked for him...lol! And I wrote to one, I can't remember what his name was. But he sent me a letter telling me what to do! Like, he told me to come to California, and bring money, and rent a hotel, and come and see him, and marry him!! Insane in the brain...that one was..I know alot of serial killers are psychopath but I really think some of them are just insane.

No, I haven't.  From the mixed reviews to this question it sounds like a risky choice or a pyschological choice in doing so. Serial killer still love to play mind games even from behind bars they'll never loose that trait. They still want to mainipulate case and example being Ken Bianchi one of the Hillside stranglers used and manipulated a female writer, admirer and pen pal to try and commit a murder for him to make it look like he was innocent back in 1980.

She was in prison for a while and was paroled now is happily married with a daughter. She warns women not to fall for the same trap. I'm kind of ify to evena ttempt to want to write to a serial killer. If I did it would mainly be questions to try to get into one's head for research. I am not quite sure how FBI profilers even do it, but you got to admire them for all their work and effort to get answers. Their very brave people. I guess if you choose to do so write to a serial killer, do so at your own risk and just make sure you are able to maintain and keep a strong pyscholgical sense.

I used to write to Richard Ramirez when I was 16-20, he was nice, told me to get an education and that Im sweet and should sort my life out and not end up in prison lol.  I really liked him.  I told him I wanted to chop his wifes feet off and he was cool about it.  he's a nice guy :-).  Obsessed with the Devil, wanted rude pix of me blah blah blah.  Asked me if I was mad? haha.

xxx

Has anyone ever had correspondence with Ed Kemper? I am not particularly fascinated with serial killers, and I wouldn't write the others, but for some reason, I am interested in writing him. (It figures I would find a sudden, insane interest in the most selective one.)

I bet you can go through the book's publisher. i know he obviously isn't in the US, otherwise it would be a piece of cake to find his contact info.

My fave is Ted Kaczynski... I've been so nervous about contacting him although he is one of the best I hear when it comes to writing. He usually always writes back...and immediately. He's a very prolific writer. He enjoys getting letters.

I just need to get a PO Box because my parents would freak out if I got letters from a supermax prison. haha

So i guess I need to do it soon.. because he's 67. Not young. you know what I mean?

I had to get a p.o. box. My parents were freaking out because I was writing someone in prison, and I got a PO box, lied, and told them I quit writing. I eventually got tired of writing them though because most of them don't really tell you anything important. They just want pics. The ones I wrote to rambled on a bunch of nonsense!

I don't know how you're getting "pulled" into it.  It's more of like a walking on over.
