    Not Me, My Wife Did

My wife wanted to have a natural birth with a nurse midwife (in the hospital) but that was not an option in our town.  Our first baby was C section and so the doctors wanted to do it again.  It was a hard decision but we decided to hire a home birth widwife and had...

Yes I did but I think

that it's about what the woman wants. I hate when I hear people put other woman down for getting an EP. Everyone handles pain in different ways and no mother should ever have to feel bad or be burdened with guilt when she decided to make the choice of what was best for her and...

No Drugs, No Horror Story, a Beautiful, Peaceful Birth...

As an older woman birthing her first child I had heard many, many stories about birth and everything that there would be to fear.  I even had a physician friend tell me a week before I was to deliver that I should have an epidural because he had seen woman give birth and...

    My First Child

The idea of a natural birth was not something that even crossed my mind. I had told my doctor the first time we discussed "my pregnancy plan" that I wanted an epidural when in labor. I had been dilated 4cm for about 3 weeks when my doctor finally decided that I needed to be...

    Something About It

Something about giving birth naturally that feels very satisfying.I've given birth without any painkillers and yes, the pain could be quite real but it just makes everything so intimate. Maybe it's the bragging rights. Maybe it's a hormonal or natural instinct thing. If a woman...

I had the best natural birth,

it felt really good! I did get hit with back labor but my midwife gave me saline shots in my back (that Hurt like a mother!!) and that cause me to have regular labor! I did hypno birthing classes so I was able to do that and my birth was very enjoyable! Especially when I felt my...

    Twice. Out of Hospital.

First time (first baby) in a birth center active labor lasted 5.5hrs. It was very intense, painful, and difficult but also everything I had wanted for myself and my baby. Second baby came at home after 3.5hrs of active labor (but a couple days of early labor). It was so easy I...

I Tried For Over 2 Hours...

It got to where I couldn't breathe so I told the nurse it was time for epidural.  I couldn't even make it back from the bathroom.  My contractions were back to back already.  I had a short labor which was shocking because I was induced.  They checked me in...

All three of my children were born naturally -

nothing macho, with pain relief of course but the natural way. A caesarean is fine if it is necessary for medical or safety reasons and no-one should feel in any way bad about having one, but if there is no need to have one I think in the long term it is better to do things...

I Gave Birth to My Son Naturally and Pain Medicine Free!

I gave birth 11 months ago without pain medicine! Throughout my pregnancy I knew I wanted a pain medicine free birth. I tried to hire a doula, but my husband said it was a waste of money. On the day I went into labor, my husband was at a military school and was unavailable...

In total , I have given birth four times.  Each time was a different method.  1.Saddle block 2. epidural 3. natural 4. caesarean.  All in all , the natural birth was much from which to recover than any of the others.

    I gave birth completely unmediated

and I would recommend it to any woman planning to have a baby. First off, let me say that I am no super woman when it comes to pain. When I first became pregnant, my mind was pretty much set on receiving an epidural bc I figured "why am I going to go through pain if I do not...
