    How I Cope

Someone posted a question on my story about what I do to treat/cope with my migraines. The only hope I have is to prevent the triggers. For me, the main trigger seems to be stress. When I start to worry and stress over something, I start getting the really early signs of a...

I had a bad migraine today,

it felt like my brain was trying to beat its way out my skull. I had to take two ibuprofen and sleep it off. I feel better now but I'm sure I'll be getting another one very soon.

I get them almost everyday literally.

Ibuprofen usually works if that doesn't I try to sleep it away. I also smoke cigarettes so that could be a reason why I get them so much. I just hate that I get them all the time.

I hardly get auras before a migraine this days.

I used to get them quite frequently before starting daily medication. Today my vision keeps going in my left eye (it used to always be my right) also seeing star bursts. Rescue meds on board, since from past experience I know I have about 15-20 minutes before hell breaks loose...

In my case, due to having very acute senses,

most of the time my migraine headaches generally get trigger by too much sensory overload. Sometimes meditation can help filter out some of this. Other times I need to find a dark, quiet place to recover. And sometimes, medicine helps.

... The best times with migraines were the times

when the pain drove me to vomiting to the point of pained dry heaving... At the same time,of course increasing the blood pressure to my already inflamed cranium, driving the urge to throw up that much more... Strangely enough it had an easing effect. Since the pain was so...

since my late teens, I've learned how to handle them fairly well. I know my triggers... what to eat, what to avoid, sleep patterns, stressors, etc... But, every once in a while, one comes along with such a fierce power that it causes me to spiral downward... taking every ounce...

It's a nightmare with brittle bones disease.

Any headache or bump on my head results in me having to get x rays and MRI scans to see if its a fracture. It's one of the most dangerous results of my disease and could easily result in brain damage
