I Get Re-Pissed About An Old Situation When I Have A Flashback

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 768 People

I sit here and remember all the wrong,

all the bad, all the ugly. How can I look back on such a traumatic relationship and still love him and miss him so much? Not only does it hurt me and **** me off but it makes me feel pathetic.

    Its a pretty bad habit.

It gets difficult to let go, especially to forgive.

it's not so much pissed off

as I get very upset each of my experiences are different so normally it leads me to feel different emotions with each one. most of them I get upset over though because their negative I don't want to forget about my past even though sometimes it would make life easier. the past...

This happens to me when I tell someone about a

vacation I took 2 years ago that was completely ruined by a former good friend. I'll start off by saying, "It was a long time ago, so I'm over it but..." then the story will end with me being all shrill and loud and ranting over how it was one of the worst times I've had and...

    Mostly it's because I think

that I could have said this...or done that to make it better. But all we can do is learn from our mistakes and move forward. I also learned that reliving past hurtful/annoying/anger making situations does us no good. It causes stress and can turn anger inwards. Resentment...

The good thing is that the pissed-offedness

decreases with each passing remembrance of the lie you created. You used and acted out the word ‘love’, ‘commitment’. You were warm, even kind. But the warning signs were there. Even though you were the one to hint at a future together, you definitely put it in reverse...

All the damn time or sometimes I just laugh

and think about how stupid it was or think about how dumb and childish me and the person was to even argue or fight over what happened.

In middle school this group of girls always

talked about me and my group of friends behind our backs. To this day I still get angry at it, and I still get pissed at them. Sometimes I even wish they would be dead, although I know that's bad, but still.

I'm extremely aggravated with my business

partner who just took off & left her staff alone for so many days. Turned off her mobile phones and we can't even tell our clients where she's been hiding. For what? I dunno. And I'm very, very antsy abt this. Are we going to play "Where's Waldo (again)?"

I still get pissed. This new guy I like admitted straight up he's a liar, yet I still like him. I don't even know what I'm doing.

    Sometimes, things happen to us

that affects us so adversely on such a deep level that we just don't get over it particularly when it was something that we were powerless to do anything about at the time or when anything we tried to do backfired or just made matters worse. If you've never had such experiences...
