    I Weaned Myself From Prozac

Took it 12 years.  Am so glad I don't use it anymore.  Once in awhile I have a Prozac day and take one.  It has an immediate effect on me - it helps me not cry.

    No Zoloft For Me!

I was treated for major depression almost 10 years ago.  I had the whole deal: hospitalization, heavy meds, aftercare, therapy, etc.  I was on: wellbutrin, doxepin, xanax, and a couple of others.  I took the wellbutrin and doxepin for a year and a half, and went to...

    Pretty Easily.

I don't exactly remember the name of what I was on, because it was a few years ago*.  I hated what the anti-depressants did to me.  I'd rather be depressed than have the "feelings" I did when I was medicated.  It completely removed my ability to feel...

    Not Yet, But I Will

I just started Lexapro recently. I'm still on it, and my doctor wants me to stay on it for at least 6 months. I'm trying to observe myself, and I think I can get off it after 6 months.

"Probably Forever" Is Not the Answer, Doc

I have tried several times to wean myself off antidepressants....physically I can do it, but then I get discouraged and go back to it again...the doc just mutters "probably forever" when I ask how long I'll have to take it...I have been on it for approx 3 years now...

    Successfully Is A Strong Word

When I was 17, I was put on a 10 mg dose of Lexapro. I was informed that this was an extremely weak dose/drug, one that they often give to senior citizens. I needed it at the time. It completely turned my life around at the time. I stopped having PTSD and anxiety attacks, I...

After 12 Years I'm Finally Free

Who knows why any of us need meds…we can hypothesize several different reasons such as heredity (depression and a couple of suicides in the family)…chemical imbalance, childhood molestation, verbal/emotional abuse from childhood bullies, drug addicted parents...but regardless...

    Off Of Welbutrin - Again?

I have been on welbutrin for almost 10 years. I have tried several times to get off of it, but usually have some sort of a meltdown and then start it up again. I was feeling like I was going to be on it forever. Then, this last summer I started having some scary thoughts, like...
