I Grew Up In a Bilingual Or Multilingual Household

For anyone who has grown up in an environment of more then one language. 74 People

    Grew up learning English,

    people speaking Turkish and people talking some Balkan stuff. After all these I ended up learning some Balkan tetms and sometimes people don't get me.

    My mother is from Madagascar

    and my father is from Burundi (East Africa). In addition to their mother tongues, they speak french and english. So I grew up speaking French, English, Kirundi and Malagasy. I also understand a little Kiswahili.

    Yemen) and Armenian (since my mom is from Armenia) and Swedish (because I live in Sweden) and English (because I go to an English speaking high school) and French (because of school as well)

    When My little brother

    and I were little, my parents would speak Hebrew to each other when they didn't want the two of us understanding the conversation. Little did they know that i slowly caught on till I could understand every word. :)

    My grandparents are from Central America.

    My parents were born in the US and speak both Spanish and English fluently. I speak a little Spanish but not like my parents and grandparents.
