I've been searching around a bit and finding lots of stories that are REALLY making me not want to have this procedure done.  Thanks to anyone/everyone who've posted good things...I'm trying to focus on those.  So anyway, I have a Gum Graft scheduled in a little less than a month and obviously not looking forward to it.  All the posts I've read it sounds like people have all been awake for this ordeal, would any of you recommend being asleep for this?  I have a fairly weak stomach and the dentist usually has to give me extra Novocaine just for fillings so I'm really hoping to be out for this things.  Also I'm having this done about 2 hours from my home town and wasn't really planning on a follow up to get stitches out is that something a general dentist can do?  Any thoughts or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

Honestly, I was "freaked" out before and considering various forms of sedation.  However,  I opted for the novacaine only and the procedure was a piece of cake.  Much easier than any crown, filling or root canal (if you ever had one of those).  You won't have any pain until the novocaine wears off and the healing begins.

The actual procedure is the easy part, it's afterward dealing with eating and healing.

Just think positive thoughts and don't think about what is happening.  Mind over matter!  Good luck!

I was awake for mine.

In my honest opinon, this is much less painful than a filling, and it is VERY quick.

I am sure you will be just fine :)
