when I had my tonsils taken out they were taking an unexpectedly long time to heal. I was in major pain on day 12, I kept dozing off due to my lack of sleep. When I woke up there was an unusual amount of mucus going down my throat. I kept having to swallow every 5 seconds...

When I was seven years old

and in first grade, I had my tonsils taken out. I had sleep apnea and got strep throat often, and in class, I'd often be tired and hyper from not sleeping. So, I barely remember it. I was put to sleep (and I scented the mask with a Lip Smacker), and before I knew it, I woke up...

last week. Drinking water still hurts...I can barely eat anything at all. I just tried to eat some scrambled eggs and felt like screaming it hurt so bad to swallow them. I had to go to urgent care to get prescribed more pain medication. My surgeon told me I am about to "turn the...

    In First Grade

I was very prone to tonsillitis as a child.  I always seemed to have it on the holidays, too.  I remember one bout on Christmas Eve, with family over.  I began to shake with fever and excused myself from the dinner table to curl up into a ball on the sofa near the...

    Footloose and Tonsil-free!

I was only about seven when I had mine removed.  Before that, I'd had chronic tonsillitis.  I was off school every other week because I was so ill.  Therefore, my doctor made me have mine removed as soon as he could.  I also had the adenoids in my nose removed...

Someone please tell me what's going on with my

tonsils! I went to the doctor and they said it wasn't strep. I'm so irritated because I ALWAYS get strep or a sore throat and I'm always in pain and I just want them OUT. I'm in so much pain and I don't know what's going on. :(

Yesterday. Day 1 Post Op Morning: Feeling

really disgustingly dry, despite sleeping in a very steamy room with a humidifier and walkin up frequently to drink water. When I swallow, instead of it coming back up and swallowing it again, liquids immediately try to get up into my nose instead of going down. My neck, throat...

I could have died if my parents delayed my

surgery. I always thought how corrupt people were really bad, but a doctor who cheated off with the payment by making it a smaller amount for us to pay saved my life.

I'm having mine out 4 weeks today

and I'm so excited. I've suffered from tonsillitis over 50 times according to my GP and in February I was admitted to hospital for it. The consultant decided that enough was enough and I was out on the waiting list. He said my operation would be end of May beginning of June my...

    Where Are My Tonsils Now?

I had them out when I was young. I was feeling so sick and miserable afterwards. I was only eating yoghurt but even that hurt to swallow. I did not think I'd ever get better because it was taking so much time for me to recover. But then some of my sisters friends came over...
