I Had My Wisdom Teeth Removed

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,712 People

I just had them taken out this morning.

My two uppers and lower right went famously, no pain once we found out how much aenesthetic to use, no complications. My lower left, however, was a nightmare. It made me wish I'd been sedated. The root of the tooth was touching the IA nerve, and the tooth was impacted and...

    It Was A Horrible Experience

When I was 17 my dentist said I had my wisdom teeth out and they were impacting the other teeth so therefore would have to be removed. I'm not normally a person that is scared of pain or a cry baby. I thought I was going to be in and out...nothing too serious. I was SOOOO wrong...

24 hours into recovery for having all 4 pulled under local anesthetic. All in all the hype had me way more terrified then was really necessary. Granted I seem to have a decent pain tolerance and I usually tend to heal quickly. Aside from the interesting noises of the procedure...

    A Miserable Experience

I had to get my wisdom teeth removed when I was 15. Apparently they were inside the nerves in my gums, and if they were to be pulled, it could affect my nerves and I would lose feeling in my jaw...or something like that. Anyway, I went to get my wisdom teeth checked out and they...

once with just heavy freezing and it wasn't to bad at all. I was in quite a bit of pain for a day then all good until I noticed I had another tooth coming in a year later, turns out I had six wisdom teeth! Two little baby uppers had to get pulled after I had all four pulled...

I felt on the verge of exsanguination

for at least three days after the first got removed a few months ago. I'm now looking for evidence for or against prophylactic extraction of wisdom teeth before I let my dentist touch the other three.

I just got them extracted today.

When they tried to put me to sleep, it didn't work. I couldn't feel a thing, but I was totally conscious. I kept asking the surgeons questions about what they were doing, haha. As of right now, the local anesthesia has wore off, and it's pretty painful.

I was anxious at first, but once they sedated me, it was easy from there of course. two of my teeth, the top I'm guessing since they were coming in, popped right out, but the bottom two had to be broken in half. first two days I kept up on my pain medicine and didn't feel much...

I had 4 of my Wisdom teeth removed about a

month ago, and honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I chose to be put under, as oppose to being just numbed up. For two reasons: 1. Apparently they were going to be sawing through my gums, to get two of the teeth out, and I didn't really want to be awake for that...
