This past april i had surgery to remove 75% of

my colon. I spent 2 dreadful weeks in the hospital. The scariest part about surgery is the fact that you don't remember anything. I hope i never have to go through anything like that ever again.

    I had discectomy (L4)/ laminectomy (S1) in 1991.

The disc was completely removed. Although I feel the surgery was tremendously successful, I still deal with lumbar pain from time-to-time over the years as a result of occasional overuse or unintentionally mis-positioning. My doctor determined that the pain I experience now...

Put to sleep. When I was told some years ago I

would have to have a general anaesthetic for a hernia operation, I was very upset. I’d been knocked out for an operation when I was a child and had found the experience quite difficult to cope with: I hadn’t liked the idea of being helpless and unaware of what was going on...

Anyone on here hate the hospital?

I stopped counting my surgeries after 20, anyone else the same? I'm so sick and insecure because of them and I just want it to stop. I'm not looking for attention, I just wanted to know if anyone has shared similar experiences or feelings. Don't get me wrong, surgeries have...

Next year, 2015 , will be a huge year of change

for me! Two surgeries, one minor and one major. Both deal with airway blockage. One will remove spurs and blockage in the nasal passage and the other is jaw reconstruction. Right now I struggle to get through days, most of the time I feel like a cripple before age 50. Throw...

When I was 19, I decided to go live with some friends in south Florida. Figured the salty air would do me some good. I'd been down there for a few weeks and everything was going well. I had already gotten a job and was attempting to make new friends. One particular Monday, I...

I'm 5 weeks post OP today. I had reconstruction on my ankle. I'm so sick of crutches and not being able to put any weight on my right foot but hopefully in a few months I'll be okay. I liked going under, it's like sinking into a mountain of soft pillows and go into blissful sleep...

    Work-related Injuries.

I ended up with my two surgeries due to a work injury. If it'd been my mistake, I wouldn't have ended up angry about it, but this was caused to me by another co-worker (who, come to find out, was high on the job!). This kid ended up dislocating my left thumb so badly that it...

but one thing I can say and most others who have had surgery is pain and there's lots of it everyone is different but at the same time everyone's pains are different so you can't ask many question from the doc about the pain because they will not be able to answer it even if...

I didn't have gall stones, the exact term the stenographer used was, Boulders. I almost died choking on my own bile because i kept trying to out last the pain in my side. If one stone gets stuck in your bile duct, you can drown in your own stomach fluid. Gross eh?
