I Freak Out The Doctor Drawing My Blood

Everytime I get a blood test, I scream. I can feel the needle in my vain and they have to close the doors so the kids dont hear me. I distract myself by singing songs and I rip the rubberband off my arm about 3 or 5 times usually before they actually draw any blood then I scream...

    Out For The Count

the last 2 times I have had blood tests I fainted, it is normal for me! I don't mind having needles stuck into me and things injected (not that it happens very often), but it is the thought of blood being taken out that just makes me fade away........ On the last occasion the...

It Goes Way Beyond Just Hate

Hate isn't a strong enough word to describe how I feel about them! The last time I had one, I was about 10 or 11. It took a good hour to get it done because I wouldn't let them do it. I ended up trying to run away and they grabbed me and carried me back to the chair. A whole...

The build up of anxiety is the worst part.

Staring at the blood swirling through the tube into the vial is fun though.

The sight of my own blood, or having the knowledge that blood is leaving my body without even seeing it, makes me faint.  I am too scared to get pregnant, even though I've always dreamed of becoming a mother, because I know that routine blood testing is done during...

    Its a Phobia Really!!!

My main fear of getting a blood test started when i was younger. I wasn't too bad until i had my 1st test. I went the the doctor when I was about 8 or 9 thinking it wouldn't be that bad and that it would just nip a bit... until I seen the syringe. it was huge!!!! they...

    I Hate Getting Blood Tests

Lately it seems that all I do is get poked and prodded with needles and gizmos galore! I've honestly had enough already! I have orders in my car now for blood work and in two weeks I have to pick up more from another doctor. Does it never quit??? If I went in and they found the...

Okay now I can relate to this.

One time when I was getting blood taken, the nurse was joking so much with the person next to her she lost the vein and just started moving the needle around in my arm. That hurts

My first experience of having a blood test was

awful. The nurse did it on the back of my hands and it was so painful. My vein wouldn't bleed properly so she kept poking and poking and poking. I left the hospital with bruises on the back of my hands. Ouch!!!

I had my first blood test (not counting the one at birth) at 13.  I thought I would be ok until I sat in the chair and completly panicked.  Ran to the bathroom and got sick.  My mother came in and said that I HAD TO have it done.  I was crying, shaking...

    Keep It Away From Me

I hate blood tests because i have to have blood work once every 2 months-I have epilepsy, so they are always "checking my levels"  and my liver.   I could probably be OK with it, except I have no "Good" veins left, by veins roll, and are really...

I usually get nausious when they draw blood. At least I don't pass out like my son does though. I hate it even more when he gets his blood drawn. It scares the life out of me when he does that.

    Too Many :(

I've had a string of health issues, and they all seem to demand quarts of blood!  At one point I had needle tracks on the back of my hands because that was the only place the nurses could reliably get me. On the other hand, the last few times I've needed one, they got me in...

    Worst Blood Test Experience

A year or two ago, I went to the local hospital for blood tests.  I have small veins that aren't close to the skin, so nurses often have difficulty drawing my blood.  I can usually tell them where the best spot to try is, but on this particular occasion, the nurse was...

I always get a bit anxious about having a blood

test, not because I'm scared of needles, but because of my "difficult veins". Blood drawing always seems like a battle for me. I always tend to walk out of the laboratory looking like I have been in a fight - black and blue marks on my arms or hands. I wish I was blessed with...

    They Make Me Cringe

People think I'm afraid of the needle. I'm not. I'm allergic to the needle (ain't I the lucky one?) and I know what is going to happen. I am going to swell up, the site is going to get red and itchy, and I am going to have a massive bruise that will last at least 2 1/2 weeks.

accutane, both times for more than 6 months. The rule with that drug is monthly bloodwork, to make sure it isn't damaging your liver or kidneys. The clinics I went to were in retirement areas, so almost everyone in there were retirees. It always felt awkward to be the youngest...
