    Competing With A Friend

it gives me this uneasy feeling inside. I usually like to be left alone, so I can't stand it when this one friend always tries to compete with me. The worst of it is that she does it silently with me so none of my other friends notice and I am a very intuitive person. I can feel...

Healthy Competition Is A Contradiction In Terms.

Please don't compete with yourself. What the * does that mean anyway, "I compete with myself". Yeah, take that yesterday-self. You suck! In your past-tense FACE! It ALL ABOUT the now self ah yeah. In fact my only regret is that I ever once HAVE BEEN you yesterday-self. Really...

    Since Forever

I have never been a fan of competition.  It just seems meaningless to me - "We're better than you because of this one tiny thing we did better than you this one time" - so mean.  I'm the kind of person who, when watching a sports game, will cheer for the...

Competition. I have to say I find it

rather unnecessary and unpleasant to take part in. Sure it can have a distinct purpose but more often than not it brings out the worst in people; the greed, selfishness, desperation etc. Competition feeds off of those things. I think we as a society are much too obsessed with...

Why Does Everything Has to Be a Competition?

I hate the stress and all that goes hand in hand with competition. It's just discriminating the losers and overrating the winners.

    I find it hugely demotivating,

probably because it's such a friggin' waste of time. why do we encourage people to tear each other down? this only weakens our pool of human resources at last.

    honestly just can't stand it.

I put as much effort into life as I intend to and I'm content enough with it. Why bother competing against people who "do better" than you when all they probably care about is their own unrealistic expectations.

    Can Everyone Calm Down...

Ok, so I will begin with I am quite a mess, various out of control problems and relating to anxiety/depression and more generally pertaining to my world view. But reading many of these sub-posts, it seems I'm quite hinged; or at least aware of the depths of my own depravity to...

    I Hate Competition

Not because I cannot compete - I do pretty fine myself. I don't even hate competition - I hate nothing. I simply find all competitions absolutely unneeded.  All those "competitions" are much ruining the lives, minds, souls and good normal psychological...

    Real Life Competition

I hate real life competition. When I say "real life competition," I mean that as opposed to just competition in the spirit of fun.  I enjoy fun competition, granted I have a chance to win.  I enjoy a nice game of poker with my dad or a game of Mario Kart with my nephew, and I...

I'm generally not a competitive person!

When it comes to real life issues like who has more material goods, is prettier, smatter, better and things like that I generally don't engage. But at the same time, if I feel that someone has something that I want and I start to feel envy for what they have, I may put more...

I met a really great girl, we became good friends. She seemed level headed, stable, kind, smart, interested. Had her career sorted. Then things changed, she wanted to do things I was doing, she began complaining about not having a boyfriend, as I had one, but also being negative...

    Competitive Friends

I can not stand when friendships turn into a competition. This really only happens with one of my friends in particular, and yes, of course it's another girl.  I think the reason it gets to me so much is because I honestly have no other girl friends who do this.  ...

Why does everything need to be a competition?

Why does everyone feel the need to rub things in our face? We finally having a working car. It's nice, used, but in good condition. It has a sunroof even! A first for me. I showed my mom. We've been asking her for rides for a long while now. The very next days parents show up...

Yes Whenever There Is An El...

Yes whenever there is an element of competition in an activity, I usually shy away and just play half heartedly. I dont really understand why people want to compete all the time. I suppose it is human nature (survival of the fittest). I wonder how I have managed to suppress this...
