    My Husband Is Deploying Again

Up until today I was scheduled to start nursing school in just a few days.(it is a really hard program to get into. 30 out of 267 students were accepted after almost two years of prerequisites) Today I found out that my husband (who returned yesterday from a two month rotation in...

I find myself missing the little things in life

now. I find myself wishing that I could argue with him in person. Wishing that I would have to clean the kitchen because we made dinner, or make the bed in the morning because he rolled around in it all night. I find myself missing being accidentally woken up when he was being a...

I'm just not ready for my bf to go to

deployment every time I think about it. It gets me like really really sad! 😖 I just hope he goes once we've got our own things situated. I wanna have a baby before he goes too. Idk lol it's just so much to think of.

My fiance left in early September

for a four month tour in Afghanistan. We had only just gotten engaged. Engagements should be a happy time, right? But this is my first deployment experience, and to say I was unprepared is an understatement. Two weeks in, and my cheese had started to come off its cracker. By a...

Incessant waiting. That's the bulk of what

you do as a spouse or significant other of the one who is deployed. Waiting for calls and texts so you know they are safe. Waiting for the Internet to come back up the fifth time in a row so they can continue the conversation. Waiting on word your loved one is okay when an...

I've been through many deployments with friends

and family in the military... the hardest thing to experience because I constantly worry about them!

It's almost the end of November,

but each day fairly trickles by. Then, December and half of January to go before his homecoming. I miss him so much my chest hurts. My eyes constantly brimming with tears. I think the main trigger the last few days has been the upcoming holidays and the fact we won't spend them...

    I haven't experienced one yet

but I know that I will hate them. You never know if that will be the last time you see them.

    Another reason I hate deployments?

Watching other couples stroll the mall hand-in-hand, chatting about which store they will go in next or what time the movie is, my fiance is halfway around the world. We won't get our first Thanksgiving Christmas, or New Year's together. And this week, I'll miss celebrating my...

    I'm Sure I Will

My husband deploys soon.  We HOPE he'll only be gone for a year, but he's been told from the beginning that there are no garauntees.  He may extended.  I hope not....but the army doesn't care about what I want.  I have four small children.  Seriously...

I Was Hoping It Wasn't Real

I was hoping, dreaming, wishing that it wasn't real.  I knew this day would come, but I put it out of my mind.  I can't ignore it anymore.  I have to face it. I have to adjust.  I have to be strong for him.  I can't allow myself to...
