    I'm somewhat effeminate,

and that makes me no less of a man, and it is not proof of my sexual orientation.

Why does a girl “throw like a girl”?

Well, if indeed she does actually throw less efficiently than her male counterpart (and let’s make no assumptions here, lest the stereotype becomes self-fulfilling), it is likely to be because she has been excluded from, or marginalised in, sports that require a good throwing...

I recently had an eye appointment to get new

glasses and, as I naturally do, I looked at all my options of glasses to pick from before I made my final decision, not letting gender specifications limit my options. The glasses I ended up choosing were from the men's section, but before I settled on them the optometrist came...

Oh, hell. People are always defining you by your gender. You're a girl, so you must like the colour pink and you love pretty dresses. You're a boy, so you must be into sports or video games. WHAT BLOODY CENTURY ARE YOU STUCK IN? Anyone can cook. Anyone can clean. Anyone can like...

i understand how sometimes women are treated

unfairly like in jobs, men are paid more and women are expected to this and that and not act masculine. Women can be who they want and wear what they want no matter how masculine or feminine. I don't want to sound s*xist, but sometimes I think women have it easy in gender...

As a proud feminist I really dislike how we

have all grown up to know and believe gender stereotypes of both women and men. It's 2014 and the fact that I still hear things like "that's only for girls" or "only guys can do that" make me so irritated and upset. I don't think gender should determine what you can and can't do...

    We're Equal

I'm not arguing that the sexes are literally identical, because there are clearly some physical differences. I'm aware of the difference between sex and gender. However, for all practical purposes we may as well be equal. I don't expect males to be "manly" and I don't expect...

I was born in the early 70's and I was also born with both sexes. I did not find this out until 2006 when I started seeking out a medical professional for my full transition from male to female. I latter learned that I was truly 85% female and that my body was produce the female...

I just saw a small boy wearing a princess anna

dress and some man said "if that was my son he'd get a right slap" and the boy replied "if you were my dad I'd report you to child services." And then he blew the guy a kiss and walked away. I'd be so proud if he was my child. What a kid.

I can't figure out my gender,

men are supposed to be strong and tough and manly, but I'm none of those things yet I feel like a man, I'm fragile and weak and feminine, but I don't feel like a woman. Gender stereotypes make it hard for me to understand my own gender.

I think they are outdated, illogical, stupid and harmful to society. By gender stereotypes, I mean the idea that men and women should act a certain way, look a certain way etc. and if they don't, they're freaks and there's something wrong with them. I don't understand why I, or...

People are far too complex to be hindered by

such labels. Women can be bigger providers then men all they want. Women can be muscular and athletic. Women don't need to have a family. Men can nurture. Men can be stay at home dad's. Men don't need to be macho alpha males. Life's too short not to do what you want.
