I'll Smile, When I Damn Well Want To

You know what I hated about working in retail for four years? Well a few things, one being that the money wasn't that great, and the fact that I had to be around annoying people all the time. So naturally, I'd often be in a bit of a crappy mood while I was working, and it...

If I'm not smiling it doesn't mean I'm sad,

in fact it actually means I'm feeling far too lazy to smile.

People are always telling me this,

even when I'm not in a bad mood and it's pretty annoying. Apparently I have a bad case of resting ***** face.

I Hate It When People Tell Me to Smile

I see it as fairly rude. They don't know what's going on in my head. It's like they're telling me to "suck it up". Why is it any of their business what facial expression I just so happen to have on anyway? Some people seem to take it personally when you don't smile at...

you see, i have issues with people saying this

to me, cos its like, when i don't smile, people tell me to smile, even though iv'e no reason to,then at times when i do smile, people want to know why i'm smiling, as if there must be a reason i'm smiling,so when i tell them i don't have a reason for smiling, its as if they think...

People who tell you to smile are the worst.

Like, if you care, make me smile, otherwise go step on a lego.

The ONLY attention I get from men are

when they tell me to smile... And it's never the women who do this just the random men that pass by. Like seriously? It's not like I'm frowning. That's just my face. And what's it to you anyways if I smile or not? Will it just make your day? I don't think so. I'm not a mean...

    Yes! I absolutely hate this.

It is of useless interaction to force a smile and/or small-talk. The kind of people that need smiles and pointless chit-chat are weak inside and feed off of other's strength to deal with their facade.

I'm pissed off some people don't get that. Telling people to smile is just going to irritate them.

We all have our off days.

Telling me to smile when I am about to murder everyone I see is the least helpful thing you could do. Even when everything is alright with the world and I could not be in a more positive mood, I tend to not smile. Can I just please be left alone and smile when I feel I should...

    I Don't Smile 24/7.

I can't stand when people tell me to smile, or assume I'm mad because I'm not smiling.  My normal, comfortable facial expression is not a smile.  All it means is I'm relaxed.  Damn! I used to babysit for these people and EVERYTIME I came over the dad would be like...

    Smiling on commando is fake.

Some can do it well, extremely well, as I have witnessed at weddings. But as for me, when I smile, I smile (I do smile occasionally!). And when I don't, don't ask me to. You'll get a no.

I hate being told to smile.

It's very annoying, especially because the random stranger who says it has no idea of what I might be feeling at the time. For all they know, I may have just gotten some really bad news, lost my job, lost a loved one, or any number of negative events may have happened to me. I...

i smile when i mean it.

i dont usually smile just for the sake of it. maybe that is why some people find me intimidating. i don't mean to frown either, but i guess that's how people see it.

I am not on this Earth to make your life more

pleasant and if I am not in a happy mood, you can't force your ideal on me. Telling someone to smile is incredibly rude. You have to acknowledge that the person may not be happy or that they may be content. Yes I have Resting ***** Face 'RBT'.

    It's really irritating

when people tell you to smile. If someone is upset about something, are they supposed to walk around with a fake smile, pretending everything is okay? I think people need to actually be more transparent about how they truly feel rather than pretending to be okay when they truly...

    Sometimes, i cant smile.

I will feel agitated. Smiling seems impossible. All i can do is roll my eyes and the only noise that can come out of my mouth is "ugh". I try to be positive but its like someone else takes control sometimes and im strapped down, forced to watch the other person do as they please...

    I Am Smiling!!!

Usually when people tell me that. I just tell them it's been so long since I had a reason to smile that I've forgotten how. besides , even when I want to smile my embarassment about my dental problems makes me think twice about it.
