I Hate Living In Los Angeles

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 48 People

Los Angeles is a hot bed of rude,

attention seeking, soul sucking, fake demons. I'm not sure if people here are actually people anymore. You would meet someone and they would switch up on you in a instant. The weather is nice but people's attitudes ruin everything. I can't wait to get out of here in the coming...

L.a. Home Of The Body Bag

I moved here 8 years ago from a small Midwestern town.I have no problem making friends, getting girls and all that stuff. What I am most worried about is being killed by drunk or careless drivers, knuckle heads with robbery in mind,or even some homeless person that just decided...

I've lived in LA for over 20 years

and I hate it more and more with each passing day. It's dirty, over-hyped, overpriced, it's always congested with traffic, has too many pretentious hipsters and it always takes forever to get anywhere. I spend on average 3 hours a day to drive to work/school and back home and it...

Bright Light City Gonna Set This Soul On Fire

I've been in Los Angeles for nearly two years and I've become more and more antisocial.  What more can I say than I really do hate this city.  I come from a small town, like a population of 10,000 small.  What a shock to be plucked out of my cozy little...

    I Can't Agree More

I moved to LA from Boston a year ago. I love the mountains and desert here in California but each time I dread the ride "home". While I love the weather here, unlike Boston I am unable to bike or walk around LA. Just driving down to the bank less than a mile away is major...

    From: Sonoma To: Los Angeles

i used to love to walk home from work late at night. i got off at around 12:00 to 12:30 pm and would walk several miles through some fields to get home. often during this time there was a low hovering mist and it was usually fairly cold out. however, i used to enjoy taking my...

Most of LA is one large slum.

The restaurants are overpriced and just plain bad. The metro doesn't actually go anywhere and it's actually faster to drive. When I first moved here I would take the bus to work, it took an hour, now I drive and it takes 10 minutes. Oh, the Metro and buses are dirty, crowded...

    L.A. Is Beautiful....to Whom???

I moved out to L.A. from N.Y. close to 7 years ago and for some reason thought it would be the best thing - "Hollywood" is perfect - warm, sunny, and oh can't forget, the celebrities!!!  Well, I have been wrapped up in the lifestyle out here until I had...

    The Lone Bright Spot

Just moved here from New Orleans in December, and while I had no delusions of grandeur of making it in the music industry (I come from probably the best music town on earth) I had hope of recording eventually. I had my reasons for leaving NOLA, and I thought LA could provide a...

    This Is Why LA Blows

There is no social contact here, which is the problem. No bumping into people on the street, cafe's or public transportation that is reasonable. Going out takes huge efforts, and the traffic is worse than they say. The food only got better in the last few years, but the chances...

    LA.: Such A Downer.

My family moved to LA. in the seventies. At which point, LA. had some cache. Not today. LA. has turned into a complete nightmare. The traffic, crazy/rude people and crowds make life unbearable in this city. Not long ago, I lived in Santa Monica, approx. one mile from the beach...
