GuyFromEU wrote on 10:40AM at Jun 6th, 2010 There are many groups on EP with names similar to each other - sometimes their titles are even the same in meaning; on the other hand there are also groups that are rather collections of differnt ideas then just one particular concept (eg. "Hate Racism Sexism and Intolerance In General". IMO it would be good style to have three groups: "Hate Racism", "Hate Sexism" and "Hate Intolerance", instead). In case of this group "Hate Racism and Discrimination" it should be "Hate Racism" and "Hate Discrimination" instead. Even more so as racism and discrimination are different concepts by nature although they are often used in a similar way, with "racism" meaning a specialization of "discrimination ", ie. "discrimination of races (where they do not differ by nature!)". In fact the term "discriminate" literally means to "treat things differently". And although i would consider it a bad thing to treat same things differently - even more so if it leads to disadvantage of one of the parties concerned - i consider it a sign of respect towards a group to be aware of and value their specialities. In context of races: treating different(!) races differently where they are different cannot be racist at all provided that difference in race is identified on a broad trusted scientific basis (science of nature not sociology though). For instance in medicine there are groups of pharmaceuticals for the same purpose that differ in mixture and dose of ingredients for use on people of different races. Strictly speaking this is discrimination although it is not racism at all, as the reasons for this are physical differences between races (eg. details in metabolism, ...) Following these thoughts i am totally content with hating racism but only to some extent with hating discrimination. (In this context that is to say when meaning "discrimination of races where they do not differ by nature".) However i chose to join this group rather than to build up new ones in favor of not blasting the already overgrown number of groups denoting same or similar things. Otherwise i would have had founded the group saying "Hate Racism" only as my first choice. Regards.

mixraced wrote on 07:08PM at Aug 14th, 2011 I HATE RACISM. No person should ever be judge by the colour of their skin or their nationality. I was online and i came across a website which basically classed mixed race people as mongrels which in the 21 century is utterly disgraceful, throughout the forum a strong sense of hate was acknowledged for the people who have ' betrayed' the white community for falling in love with a person of another race. I felt shocked at first but then i felt sorry for these narrow minded idiots who think they are better than everyone else for being white. As a mixed race person ( half white, quarter pakistani and quarter afghanistani) I feel extremely offended being classes as a mongrel, mixed breed, half bred, impure bred and so on. Pictures were posted of mixed races families and women and as i read the comments they were just slagging of these people calling them hideous, when in reality im sure they are the hideous people for they have a ugly ugly heart. After being on that sight i've really be awakened and realized how out of hand racism is actually getting and the severity of it.
