I Hate the "N" Word

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 177 People

So, I was playing an online game talking to

this guy who seemed okay at first and during our conversation he said the N-word and then he said he can say it because he's black. So I asked he would he be offended if a Hispanic, Asian, or White guy said it and in short he said it would bother him. So I unfriended him and...

No N Word, If You Please..

We all bleed red, skin color means nothing. Wake up people, let's start a new trend called acceptance.

    Or Any Other Ethnic Slurs

I hate it when people say something meant to be a cut down to someone who is "different". I wouldn't want to be called "***" or "dyke" so why would I use a word like "retard" or the N word? I also hate it when someone says something along the lines of "thats so gay". I think as a...

I just find it interesting how there are very

few "13-15" and "16-17" users that share this experience. I assume it's partially because of pop culture and hip hop, but I find it very sad that kids my age don't understand the meaning behind the word.

Where I live, the word runs rampant amongst

Adults as well as youth. I hate the word! It's meaning and history behind it! Now I've told my Child that if I ever hear her saying it or repeating anything derogatory that she'd be punished big time. Of course I'm glad she has heeded my warning. Now What I hate more than...

I remember when I was growing up how offended

my black friends were of the "N" word when it was thrown around. Now I know that was back int he 80's and 90's. But I always find it interesting that a person of color can say it and it's like okay but if somebody else says it it like not okay. I won't say it because I find...

    Never Say "Never"!

"Never" really is a useless word in my book. It's not even possible since nobody's perfect, not even in the negative. And really, what good does the concept do? Never try something? never bother? Never consider, never change, never decide, never learn differently? Life...

I'm not black but still, I cannot stand it! Just the way it sounds so hurtful, so degrading, so ignorant. Even when my best friend, (who is black) says it, I kinda cringe inside and wanna say, "Dude, don't say that..." And as much as we joke around and call...

    The Word Nigga

I hate when people make a big deal from it, so many articles and more but if you look at lil wayne drake and other black rappers they all say it! They let it spill out of their mouth like air! Then god forbid a white person says it its like ******* war. When white people are...

    It's absolutely disrespectful.

No one should use it in my opinion but especially people who are trying to sound cool or think that it makes them sound some kind of way. It's a dumb word with a history of hatred, pain, and suffering behind it.

    I think it's messed up

for anyone to refer to themselves in this way. How can you earn respect if you don't have self respect. It's also another way for ppl to insult you but claim that it is some kind of term of endearment. Like, **** off haha

Certain words shouldn't be used at all under

any circumstances. The N word for example I gradually removed from my vocabulary with the help of the Lord. Although there are a lot of black men and women in my people group who would easily excuse it, there is a certain example I've learned that is necessary when trying to...

    Let It Go....

Personally, I disapprove of the word.Black folks, remove the explosivity from the word in your minds. Why? because there are actually non well meaning people who wish to use it to antagonize you.White people, there is no neighborly reason you should complain nor desire to use the...

    Enough "n Word"

The “N Word” Wow, the N word, every time this particular word finds its way into a discussion I am sure there is someone who used it in a way that nearly got their butt whooped. I think the word shouldn’t be used as a way to say what’s up or in any way actually. There was...

    Raised But Not Related.

I was raised hearing this word from my father just about every day. It's always disgusted me and still does. He's always used the " 'N' can be anyone, regardless of race" cop out but I think its shows ignorance and lack of education...period.  Now that I'm grown...
