I Hate Ticks

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 63 People

On my 10th birthday I found out

that I had Lyme Disease. I had been having severe nausea and pain in my right leg for a few months. Nowadays whenever I see or get close to a tick I meltdown, get really shaky and dizzy, and sometimes I just get nauseous and run away. Does anyone have an explanation?

    Useless Animals

Why did God create ticks?  I mean, some bugs I can understand.  Flies and bees are used for pollination.  Spiders make webs and eat other annoying bugs.  But ticks have no value.  All they do is crawl around on people and animals and suck their blood...

    Wth Do They Even Exist!?

I'm terrified of those little *******. What purpose do they serve except spread around Lyme Disease. Then sometimes if you don't notice them soon you start freaking out if it has already burrowed too deep in the skin. I feel bad for deer and other animals. They can't get it off...

    Ticks... Grossss

The thought of them crawling on me and sucking my blood really freaks me out. This is why I do not like the woods, people. I mean, you've got ticks, freakishly huge spiders, bears, wolves... *shudder*

I have a difficult time even removing them from my person... Oddly, on my son, I usually have no qualms... I calmly can tell him to sit still while I pull it off... But when they're on me? I freak out!

    Ticks Suck!

A few years ago...I bought a parcel of land in a rural area of coastal California. I spent 3 days clearing the 3 acres of land for building. Exhausted, I climbed into the trunk of my car, to rest. It was hot but a cool breeze was blowing so I removed my t-shirt. I noticed a...

Last September I went four wheeling with my dad.

Stopping now and then to explore what remains of a forgotten village in the solitude of the woods in Oxford County. We set out around 9:30 in the morning, But both my father and I had to be back home around 2:00 in the afternoon because we both had plans. After I returned home I...

    I Don't Know Why They're Here. . .

as a pagan I try very hard to respect the earth and see the balance. I love animals a lot of people don't like such as snakes and bats and see their purpose and even though I hate houseflies I know they're scavengers. What the purpose of ticks is I have no idea. They...

    Ticks Suck! :p

Once you have removed a tick from another man's testicles, you really ask yourself why they need to exist!  I have been spared delving into someones butt crack so far... Tick removal tip:  Get a thin ***** of semi-flexible plastic (like a yoghurt carton), then cut a...

I did some yardwork today with my dad.

My family moved to a forested area last Summer, so when I went to get a shower after that. I found four ticks on me. Hell, 10:00 at night, I have found a fifth tick. I just know there might be more and I do not like that at all

Dozens Of Ticks On A Tiny Kitten

I foster orphaned kittens for a rescue group and my first two fosters were like a tick-jackpot. They were just 400 grams (almost 1 lb) and one of them had dozens of small ticks. I didn't own any implements to remove ticks because our cats are indoors only. Because it was a...
