I Hate Too Much Noise

    Quiet Please!

I have a problem with noise and loud sound. My tolerance for it varies a bit, depending on different factors (stress level, amount of sleep, anticipation of the sound, personal meaning attached to the sound, etc.) It's not that I absolutely can't handle it, but it usually bothers...

I Hate the Sound of Traffic, A...

I hate the sound of traffic, airplanes, contruction, people yelling, loud music thumping, tvs blaring, etc.  Mostly I just hate the sounds of the city. Put me out in the country to live and I'll gladly work in the city - but I won't live in the city.

I Can't Concentrate With Noise Around Me...

Especially when I'm working on a school assignment. Some people simply need to learn how to use their inside voices.

Even Though I Like Loud Music

i hate too much noise (if its not music). For example, when in the office, the sound of the air conditioner + sound of the lamps on the sealing + sound of keyboard tapping = irritated me :) I don't mind traffic noise as long as there's no honking, but most of the everyday sounds...

    Loud Music

I hate music that is played too loud, whatever the style. I also suffer from tinnitus, so I do try to avoid any situation where it may be too loud. I think this is becoming a very common problem. I'm glad I'm not alone in this thought!

    Physical Symptoms to Noise

I have a problem with loud noise, especially booming bass sounds.  When I hear these sounds I start getting headaches, shaking and anxiety.  There have been times when I would consider going deaf than experience these sounds.  I have tried to move to places where I...

My spouse, from NJ, LOVES background noise. He wakes up, walks to the den, turns on the TV, clicks on videos on his laptop, continuously makes comments while doing chores around the house or even while sitting in the den with all the other commotion. I'm introverted, recently...

It's Like Being On a Construction Site...

I really must have very sensitive ears, because I like the volume of things so much lower than anyone else.  Sometimes I find it unbearable to be in places like malls or at events, because the noise level is so far above what I can tolerate.  I can't attend concerts of...

Noise Sensitivity May Indicate A Major Neurological Problem

My wife has always been unusually sensitive to sound and has exceptional hearing ability. Certain types of noise, particularly repititive sounds like a softly ticking clock, would drive her nuts. This was one source of many problems for us, as I was always setting the TV or car...

for solutions, I found one thing very effective. Ear Muffs are very effective in blocking 50% of the noise. This is one thing and the only one thing I found useful. These block a lot of noise. Not easily avaialble in shops though. I got mine from amazon.com

Those who are sensitive to too much noise

please understand this was not in them initially. You have been artificially sensitized. To fight this, listen to soothing music. Do self talk whenever you hear an ugly sound. At that particular time, what are your thoughts? Everything depends on that. Take deep breaths, tell...
