    I Hate It!

I text rather frequently and I have this one friend that I text almost daily. I would rather take the extra few seconds to spell the words correctly, and also use correct punctuation, whereas she will just go off and say something like "r u coming 2 da prty". I just want to slap...

With The Exception Of Texts On My Phone

..where character space is at a premium (one hundred sixty characters can be a fairly limiting), I absolutely loathe it. It's like having sixteen cesarean-sections, a root canal and an icepick to the eyes all at once. edit: got ) happy the first time around.

It's pure laziness in my opinion.

It honestly doesn't take much more time to spell words properly and text speak really just makes you look uneducated. Apparently words like 'you' and 'see' aren't already short enough at three letters. Once you really grasp it, the English language is beautiful and fascinating...

    Wicked pet peeve here!

You have an entire keyboard people - use it!! Acronyms are generally acceptable, but just not typing letters because you are lazy is super annoying. When Siri can do a better job writing a message than the owner we've got serious problems! Just sayin'...

    Because It's Unreadable For Me

I never send text messages in cryptic codes. so far I managed to write in proper language what I want within those 160 characters. Besides, I never grew up with it. I only encounter it on the internet and to me it is as if they're writing in linguistic puzzles. Even the...

    Failure To Communicate

When you use text speak, (which you and your friends are used to) most of the rest of us are trying to decode what you are saying rather than thinking about WHAT you are saying. That’s fine, if you don’t want help from all possible perspectives. I, and a lot of others who...

    If you're older than like.

..20, please don't type like this. You know better, you know how to spell. It doesn't kill you to add 2 more letters to "u" or "y." Just because you're on the internet or texting doesn't mean you have to be illiterate.

I mean some is ok but

when practically every other word is some form of text speak is when it gets annoying and unnecessary, in my opinion.

and predictive text there's really no excuse for text speak anymore. It just makes you look unintelligent.

    My ex-girlfriend did that.

It annoyed the crap out of me. She sometimes ended up misspelling simple words. I told her about it and it slowed, but it didn't stop. So I stopped responding to her "text-talks". Things didn't end well. Oh well.

For texting - It's fine - But for typing actual E-mails?

Bad grammar in general does not agree with me. Text speak, and especially excessive text speak. . . makes me very very angry. not only is it very bad form - disrespectful - and shows complete lack of dignity. . . it also slows down the flow of the reading. Every time I wince at...

And spelling! I can't help it, but I'm SO anal-retentive when it comes to spelling and grammar.  I try my hardest to always spell things correctly and use the correct tense, and it drives me insane when people don't make the same effort.  It feels lazy to me...

    I Used To Hate It.

Now, I don't let it bother me. If I see something that is all written in text speak, I pass on it, but if there are a few shortcuts in a story, then I will read the story and either like it or not depending on the content and how well written it is. I don't worry too much...
