I Hated Sports And Gym Classes

I grew up in Ohio in the 1960s.   In Ohio it was required (mandatory) that all male students would be required to take P.E (Gym) classes all the way through the twelth grade.   I managed to get by in...

    P.E Torture

I am a complete loser and failure in Phys Ed. I suck so bad, I'll make anyone seem like a pro at any sport. I am so slow, that I failed on the Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run (PACER). The score I got was an 8, while most people score 20 or above. I also got an F...

    Present Tense

For me it translate as "I hate physical Education Class" because I am still in school.  That's why I took JROTC instead.  NO way they are going to make me exercise cause I'm very lazy :)

    Social Reasons

I didn't hate PE because of the exercise. I hated it because I did not fit in. You know how it goes...last one chosen on a team, etc.

    For a slow mover such

as myself, exercise can be a real strain. It is particularly awful in my case because I tend to walk in a very slow manner so running was out of the question, even if I tried to - I would slow everyone down. If it was anything involving a ball, I would just end up losing...

If you don't hit a ball people will get mad at

you which is really embarrassing. You have to change clothes, you have to play sports with strangers. You have to run the mile and do push-ups and other exercises.

    So Painful!

I swear, my high school PE coach was trying to kill me. My class was ninety minutes long, which meant speed walking a mile, then jogging the straights for a mile, then push-ups, lunges, and reverse lunges. I cannot do a push-up. Period. Sit-ups and crunches yes, but not push...

    Complete Torture

I never really understood the whole point of P.E. I mean sure it's great to be fit and skinny and stuff but P.E. was always a popularity competition in my school. The most popular people were the most athletic and skinny while the fatter and less athletic people were well...under...

Especially Winter Sports-I still remember being

outside in -20 degree weather wobbling in ice skates on a little fenced rink adjacent my elementary school. No this wasn't some special extracurricular. It was PE in January in the Upper Great Plains. The male coach was teaching my 2nd grade class the basics of Ice Hockey. In...

    P.e. Is For Poorly Executed

I've always hated P.E. Teachers yelling at you for not being fast enough ("GO FASTER!" "But coach, I'm going as fast as I can! What do you expect? Me to be a professional track star?" "YES! GO FASTER!"), people trying to bully you ("LOL You can't run!" "I have a medical issue...

Phys Ed...Not Appropriate For All Students

Once, I didn't hate PE but it all changed when our PE teacher shouted at me and embarrassed me in front of the class. We were playing badminton at that time. Well, it was only a practice. It was my turn to hit the shuttlecock. I have problems with my eyes. I can't see things...

It wasn't so much the exercise

as it was the stupid rules and consequential detentions if they were not followed. Since when is colour of P.E kit so integral to my physical activity? Could they not cut a fat kid with bad self esteem a break and let me wear a black top instead of their slightly sheer white...

As If I Didn't Feel Like Enough Of A Dork

I couldn't do handstands or cartwheels. They made me wear dark green shorts, and a white shirt that had snap buttons. I couldn't climb the rope to the top of course. If I saw a ball coming at me, I would duck. Volleyball made my forearm all red. I just sucked! I loved weight...

    So Lame.

My Dad participated in sports when he was younger. Despite his efforts to get me involved in sports, too, I never took to it. I think the one year I on the softball team was torturous for the both of us. It's not that I am not a physical person. I was somewhat active in high...

Let's see, I've always been chubby, so not really up for running and all that.  Especially not when they would take us out to the track in late spring heat for that mile-run crap.  Bascially, gym was nothing but cruel torture devised to humilate, once you reached...

    Never No Fun.

PE was always my least favorite class. I mean, there were games I liked and was good at and had fun playing, but for the most part, I hated it. I could never quite do the laps or run like everyine else because of my asthma. I was always picked last for like kickball and all...

I was out of shape so it was kind of hard, but it wasn't enough to actually put me in better shape so i didn't enjoy it. When i got into weights i got into way better shape. It was a lot harder, but i got results from it.

    With A Passion.

It was the ***** PE teacher I had that made PE class a living hell. That was middle school. Thankfully in high school, PE class was basically just walking in circles in the gym for an hour and socializing so it was a good way to pass an hour of school and I didn't have one hell...

I don't have good high school memories, why, because I was absolutely lousy in Phys. Ed. Talk about low morale. Couldn't kick a football if my life depended on it. couldn't wrestle my way out of a paper bag. ran like a constipated dog and of course "threw like a girl". I was all...
