    My Dad Is Bipolar

My dad has been bipolar for as long as I can remember. He was diagnosed in 2005 or 2006. He will be mean and call names or yell for no reason, and he blames it on the heat. Even though he has been properly diagnosed, he denies having this disease and refuses to take medication to...

Dad Was Bipolar And Had A Sleep Disorder

My Dad was bipolar and viewed psychiatrists as quacks. He was never diagnosed. It wasn't until I was away from the abuse that I could look back and realize that he was bipolar. I talked to a cousin and apparently it's genetic and everybody just sweeps it under the rug or self...

My Mother Is Crazy - But I Still Love Her....

My mother was diagnosed bi-polar about 15 years ago.  It was one of te times I had to put her in the hospital after we found her lying naked on the sidewalk, crying her eyes out.  I'm the dutiful oldest daughter, so I did what had to be done....now that I think about it...

I don't know if I love my mom

or not. I feel like love for your mom or dad is something you are born with, but I'm not sure if I love her. She has these insane mood swings where she either doesn't get out of bed all day , or she freaks out and yells and screams . Her words are thrown like knives , then she...

Well i should say i 'had' not i have.

My mom lost her battle with the disorder in 2010, that's the way i prefer to word it. She was mentally ill and she fought for many years. If it were a physical illness, everyone would say how she fought so hard and tried to overcome it so I see it the same way.

    Mystery Diagnosis

Ever since my parents divorced, my mom has warned me about my dad's behavior. Unfortunately, she didn't win the custody battle so she splits time with me 50/50. At first I thought she was just doing the usual in denial ranting. Slowly I started to see what she meant. One second...

    My Mother...

She was diagnosed a few years ago, but I think it developed when she was much younger due to physical and emotional abuse over many years. I find that the calmer her environment is, the better her symptoms are. Problem is, my father has a quick temper. It's really hard to help...

My mom... Is it bad I have trouble showing

affection toward her? Like today, she accused me of trying to say something to my dad to get him to yell at her, and now she's upset because I don't love her enough. It hurts me to see her upset, but I just don't know what I should do to help.

I Have A Responsibility To Live For Myself. Not For Her.

I am lucky. I had a father who is normal. And what I mean by normal is that although he's a heart patient, his mind functions within the realm of logic and reason. My mother, however, is mentally ill. I was raised middle-middle class, with two college educated parents. My father...
