have you ever considered, or gotten, corrective surgery to try and lessen the appearance of your scars?

Yes... and I don't recommend it.  I was born with a birthmark that unfortunately looked like a hickey.  I had approximately 15 lazer surgeries (at three different times in my life to correct it) and none of them worked.  I then underwent a procedure that was supposed to cauterize the blood vessels.  That made it puffy, red, and very sensitive to the touch.  So, then I went to a plastic surgeon.  He attempted to cut it out, but missed half of it, and my neck now looks like i've been in a knife fight, with a brand new scar (even though the scar is a year old it's still blood red.)  I was better off 12 years ago before I started all of these proceedures.

I have been seriously considering corrective surgery for a scar in my lower abdomen, result of an ectopic pregnancy that I had a 8 months ago. The problem is that I have keloid skin and apparently the scar cannot be minimized .

I hate the scar but I've learned to hide it, but I'm optimistic that in a few years it at least fade

i want to for a scar running down from my noes to my chin but it goes all the way through on the inside of my mouth.  i dont think there is much i can do, the color is normal, medirma, but it is quite visible because of shadows and my mouth droops on right.  it would be OK if it left my mouth symmetrical, beaus people find symmetry attractive,  scar would not really effect that if the rest of the face was symmetrical, like a mole on a pretty face a scar can enhance, but not if it messes with the symmetry.  mostly i want my mouth straitened out.  maybe some day i can afford it.
