I Have a Scar Forum & Chat Board | Painful scar

I have a scar on my throat from my two parathyroid surgeries.  Quite often my scar will itch and burn. Sometimes it will even become slightly red which I think is due to the collar of my shirt rubbing against it. It's been about 4 years since my last surgery. Will it ever hurt less or will it always hurt because it is in such a sensitive area?

I am having parathyroid problems again and may to have another surgery which would be the last because they told me it would be too dangerous to cut into my throat a fourth time. The rest of the parathyroid would be implanted in my arm. I will find out at the end of the month hopefully whether I will have to have another surgery.
