I am from Alabama so I have a southern drawl.

I live in Ohio now, and it gets very irritating when people ask me to repeat things because "I like to to hear you talk." I have begun to simply mask it when among the general public though it comes out real thick when I am relaxed, tired, or feeling an intense emotion.

I never saw myself as having any particular

accent until I attended school down South (Georgia) and was told I did, lol. But I'm a San Franciscan, born and raised, and this IS my accent (although I have a lower voice).

    Having seen this experience,

it made me wonder - who doesn't have an accent, especially in the English language that is so widespread and varied? Sure, some accents are more distinct or extreme than others, but everyone has one. Speech without an accent is like text without a typeface.
