So when I was like about three I could remember

something but then over the next few years my sense of smell was lost. Everybody would say 'smell this' and I would normally frown. Went to the doctors and they gave me a nose spray for a infection. Didn't work. About a few years later I tried zinc tablets and cold pressed oil...

    No Nose For An Odour

I was born without a sense of smell, which I later had diagnosed as Anosmia. It's sometimes a blessing and a curse. I went through my childhood and teens able to escape the rancid smell of stink bombs and of course farts are just wasted on me. The only way I can tell if it's a...

13yr later now since Dr gaved up.

It's so hard to deal with this every day. I eat a lot. I love and enjoy foods. 'Cos i can't stop doing that untill i smell them again. But the reality is cruel. I barely smell about anything. Everytime someone says this SMELLS good. This flowers smells nice. I just say yeah...

I Have Never Known Anything Else

When I was growing up I thought as a little girl that I "could really smell a flower", but as I got older I realized that I just thought I could. I didn't want to feel different, or whatever, so I think I pretended like I could. By the time I was in High School, I knew I couldn...

People have often walked in on me eating

and gone 'that's what smells so good' while I have never had the pleasure of smelling my own food. I never remembering being able to smell, so I honestly have no idea what I'm missing out on with this, but can assume its something nice, as my food tastes good. I have never...

    Lost Smell Losing Taste

I fractured my skull in 2001 & subarachnoid hemorrhage left me without a sense of smell. Over the last 11 years I have also slowly lost my taste & I find it SO hard to eat normally. I have an aversion our indifference to even my favorite foods. It's upsetting to me & my family...

    My Story

    Probably Born With It

I remember being in elementary school, and the teacher was doing some sort of smell test or something, and I didn't understand. From what I remember, I sort of played along. Anosmia definitely has both its drawbacks and benefits. I don't have to smell any of the bad smells, but I...

After 6 years of not smelling,

I can smell again. I had polyps removed for the fourth time in November! It's amazing. But along with all the delicious food and ability to smell perfumes, I have to put up with bad smells, and I seem to be super sensitive.

    No One

When I tell people I can't smell, they often shove things under my nose to see if it's true. I find that no one understands it. I find it hard and easy. I can sit in a room full of smelly people, but I can never stop to smell roses, or perfume with my girlfriend

    I Have Anosmia

I had a sinus infection that was the worst one that I ever had.  It was in December of 2008.  I didn't realize that I had lost my sense of smell until the flowers started to bloom in March & I couldn't smell them.  I did all kinds of medications, I had a cat...
