    Reading Glasses.....

I have had 20/20 vision my whole life.  When I was about 40, I noticed that I couldn't see fine detail very well anymore. I was disheartened, but finally talked myself into going to the optometrist for reading glasses.  Because I have astigmatism, I wound up with tri...

    Both Eyes

I have had a slight Astigmatism in both eyes.  One eye is near-sighted, the other, far-sighted.  My vision isn't bad.  I don't like to drive at night when it rains. Once, when I was younger, after getting out of my car and proceeding to go into a bar, a police...

    Apparently So.

I apparently have astigmatism in both eyes. I was never actually diagnosed with it, but when I got contacts about five years ago, I was prescribed "toric" lenses. I was told toric lenses are only prescribed to those with astigmatism. I still don't really know what astigmatism is...

    Never Knew

Until one day I decided that I wanted to try contact lenses. At this point in time I had a new eye doctor who told me that I had astigmatism in both eyes. Why my older one never told me this, I don't know.

I feels normal until my friends read what's

written on the whiteboard without much difficulties, when all I see was blur image. That's when I realize something's wrong. When I got my glasess, the world looks like it's been upgraded to HD.

As a child I watched a lot of television.

And on television the person who usually was the "smart" was was the one wearing glasses. As a child your mind doesn't understand that glasses are used to correct imperfect vision. You want to look smart wearing glasses. For most of my life up until 1997 I never needed glasses...

My 88 Year Old Grandmother Wants To Get Eye Surgery

Hi all, My 88 year old grandmother has nearly perfect vision. She is also what i like to call a doctor hopper. She will find something to gripe about and get looked at for, even if it is mild. She had cataract surgery done a few years back, with, at the time, no sign of...

    No Glasses For Me

I guess I have always gotten by without them. I wonder at times if I am doing more damage to my eyes from straining them all the time than if I were to just give in and wear the glasses, but I always passed my driving test so I don't wear them.
