    Daydreamer

I think I have ADD since I was very little. I'm not hyperactive or impulsive like ADHD. On the contrary, I'm very quiet, very introverted, often daydreaming. I'm slow, in the fog, aloof. I have a board at home to write down my appointments, because when I'm on my...

Not living up to potential. Heard that one before, I'm sure. I heard it from teachers and parents. When I was a kid, only boys had ADD, and then, it was minimal brain dysfunction. Even now, boys are far more likely to be diagnosed. But then, they're more likely to be the...

For too many years I stuggled with detail issues.  I couldn't concentrate long enough to look at things.  Sometimes I saw things differently.  I had 22 jobs in 20 years (a staggering statistic) and was going nowhere.  Until I was fired from my last job for...

    Afraid of Being "Diagnosed"

My doctor told me I probably have ADD.  I can never stay focused on anything, and forget and lose everything.  My wind wanders all the time.  However, I am afraid to get an "official" diagnosis because I don't want to let myself use it as an excuse.
