Had To Stay A Bit Longer Than Planned...

...had to wait for the tornado to blow through before it was "safe" to go back down.

    My brother lives in St.

Louis so we went when we visited him. Going on a windy day was quite scary because you can feel it swaying back and forth, but still an amazing experience. I would love to go again.

    Not So Special, Actually.

It is effing tall, and sways in the wind. I was happy to be back on the ground again.

    Seeing As How...

Considering that I lived in St. Louis for over 20 years, it'd be pretty darn hard to NOT go up in the Arch at some point!  While I love the view, the tram ride to the top is not much fun for a claustrophobe like me.  But the view from the top is pretty great.  Better yet is...

    So Many Times

I love the little elevators. I love feeling the sway of the arch. The Lewis and Clark museum is ungodly boring and so are the prices. The best trip to the arch ever was the time there was this Red Bull airplane flying competition thingie going on outside the tiny windows over...

    During a College Trip

The good thing that came out of my short and unsuccessful time in Air Force ROTC during college was a trip to St. Louis.  After a factory tour of McDonnell-Douglas, everyone went up in the Arch. While the view was wonderful, my sole lament was that it wasn't quite in line...

    Once Is Enough

It was fabulous and I'm glad I did it. But the horror of being stuffed into that crazy tiny elevator car pod lingers.

I went in a band trip

since I'm in the drumline. It was awesome, I would do it again if the chance came up. You gotta take these egg shaped elevators up to the top and once up there is a hallway with counters you can climb on and look down windows to the bottom. It's kinda sketchy.

    There In The 70's

I took the trip up the South leg of the tallest national monument in the mid-70's. The world's greatest engineering marvel at that time, a 640-foot inverted catanary curve. Like the Grand Canyon, you won't see a picture to do it justice.

    Kind Words

I have been to the arch a few times and it is very fun.  It is scary to look out from that height and feel the wind swaying the building.  The museum is also entertaining.   A wonderful and sensitive young man reminded me of a particular time that I went there...
