I Have Been Homeless

I lived homeless for 6 months on the streets of

Atlanta Georgia. I was protesting for equality for all. I live as others had to so i could see the struggles they faced every day and the prejudice that others have for them. If the people at the top refuse to meet everyone else in the middle, then i would rather live on the...

Lived Better When I Was Homeless

I was homeless for two years because that was the lifestyle my ex-husband loved. I learned to make crafts and sell them at the Saturday & Sunday markets, and also at a Wednesday market in another town. We slept at rest stops, and twice a week were able to get a cheap motel...

When You See A Homeless Person Would You Think?

I never pondered this question, until after I became homeless. What does it mean to be homeless? To some it means some it means nothing it does not affect their lives in any way. In fact these people often see a homeless person and walk on the other side of the street. During my...

The worst part about being homeless,

not having a place to call your own, is that you're always "on." You never get to turn yourself off and just relax. You know that feeling you get after work when you go home and sit down on the couch and can just breath a big sigh of relief and be completely on your own for that...

The UN definition for "Homeless" is

when your rent or mortgage are greater than 70% of your income. Societies tend to go into revolution when "monthly food costs" exceed 38% to 44% with 42% considered a tipping point. Technically, I have been homeless my entire life by the UN definition.
