    It Sucked...

Truthfully, they've been trying to put me in one since I was just a kid. I was a kid with very severe depression so yeah. And every time they tried to put me in one, I would get lucky and there wouldn't be any beds. Every single time. Then the day after I turned fourteen, my...

    I've only been admitted once

and I think I left with more trauma than I arrived with. I suffer from pretty debilitating panic attacks and when I arrived I was having one and had accidentally taken way too much ativan- I don't remember anything besides crying and being ******** while the nurses counted all...

What the @#$% Am I Doing In Here?

My first visit to the psych ward was very surreal.  I remember that I was very robotic as I sat in the receiving area answering their questions and trying to fill out a psychosocial survey.  It was almost midnight before I walked through the door and was shown to my...

    4 Hours Of Hell

The nurse called my name from the hallway. My heart pounded faster than it already was and I stared at the ugly blue couch with the ugly leaf pattern, green and brown, green and brown... I heard my name again and stood up, some force other than my own moving my legs to the small...

came too close to going back in tonight.

wth is wrong with me? I begged him to not make me and he didn't. I'm so afraid to go back in. I know I haven't been doing very well but I have been doing better than before but I just ****** up again. I didn't mean to. I never mean to. I just do. I feel so utterly stupid. I'm...

    I've Never Gotten This Out.

I was 16 years old. I admitted to my therapist that I had made an attempt to kill myself, and I was recommended to spend some time in a psych ward. I was admitted the next day. We arrived at the hospital around 11 am, and I was not settled in until 11 pm. My mother...

I have been in a psych ward a few times.

Most of the times I was only in for just over 2 weeks but my last admission was for 12 weeks. I have never minded being in hospital, it's a place where there is always someone to turn to when i'm distressed and it's a safe place to work through difficult things.

Tv And Movie's Create Stupidity And False Fear

One of the side effect's of my depression is that I rarely watch the tv or movie's any more. It has done more damage as to how people percieve MENTAL ILLNESS, yes I said ILLNESS and the type's of treatment then anything in history. People sit and watch Michael Myer's in a Friday...

What can I say, it was later admitted

that it was a mistake on the doctors fault to send me to the psych ward, and going there only made things worse for me. But I played the nice girl card, the saint, I explained things and was let out in about 7-10 days. Ever since, pretty much all I think is "oh if I say this...

All through my teen and young adult years.. I was really bad. I was a severe self-injurer (cutting and burning) to the point of 50+ stitches in one night and a drug addict. Today, I am 24 years old and have been locked up in a hospital some 20+ times. I haven't been in one since...

Everyone always thinks I am but I'm not. I went only because I was sick of talking to doctors and wanted some sleep after 32 hours of being awake. While I hated it there, I loved the people I met. There were four drug addicts, a person with depression (like me), a schizophrenic...
