    Chronic Back Pain

I have had a three level fusion in my low back from degenerative disc disease and herniated and ruptured discs. The surgery helped alot but I still suffer from chronic pain and need epidurals. Would be interested in talking to others with the same.

Chronic pain is like having your own personal

vampire that sucks the life blood from you. You can do things you enjoy but will pay the price of awful pain later or the next day. You can't just 'suck it up' or 'push through.' If I'm hurting really badly, I'm irritable and easily annoyed. I can't play with my son like I...

I broke down and just had to refill my

prescription for oxycodone. I had hoped that I wouldn't have to do that. The drug kind of scares me. I feel good for a little while, and then I want more. I deny myself the drug, but fill that need with food. That's counterproductive too. Weight goes up, and pain gets worse. It...
