    No Smell Here

I absolutely drive people crazy having them describe smells and they find the words difficult. Well I must say my hygiene is excellent because of the fear of offending anyone. I am usually very secretive about this situation as some have made comments about doing drugs. This is...

I am a Kenyan male, and as far as my memories take me, i have never smelled anything. Actually, i got to know that smell exists by default; in my Primary School years id see fellow classmates flap their hands around their noses when someone farted. Out of response, i did the same...

    Dont Know Its Funny

I was born with no sense of smell. I read a lot of different posts and I have come to the point that if u have to have a less sense , then that's smell. I seriously cant smell anything, and I feel different from friends since they always make fun of me and sometimes don't even...

    Congenital Anosmics

So, since I was born, I've never been able to smell-well obviously, that's what I just basically put in the title. When I was little, I used to tell my mom that I could smell, just because I was little, and I didn't really want to be scrutinized. I thought I was weird because...

I Have It And Hate It

I was born without a sense of smell, but only let my parents know when i was about five years old. I just thought that smelling was something that only older people could do and that I was just like the other kids. I discovered the term for my condition a few years back after...

It's Time For People To Be Aware Of Anosmia

When I tell people that I can't smell, they usually don't believe me or sometimes they even laugh at me. Sometimes, I can't blame them. It's their first time meeting someone like me. Other times, I just can't stand them. They tell me I smell bad. Or my breath smells bad. And it...

Hi, I'm 35 years old and I have never been able to smell anything. It's wonderful to see that there are so many others with the same condition. I always remember pretending I could smell when I was little. I think I was around the age of 12 when I realized I was somewhat...

I am 56 years old and I have never been able to smell. When I was younger I would pretend I could smell because no one believed me when I said I couldn't smell. My parents and siblings never believed me until I was the age of 30. I have looked into getting my sense of smell...

    Is Smell Really That Important?

To be honest, I have never missed it.  90% of the time smells that people mention are awful ones, and I can do without that, thank you very much.  I am also really tired of people informing me that since I can't smell, I can't taste.  Many even argue with me...

    My Anosmia

I recently discovered that I have Anosmia. I never mentioned my lack of smell before because I thought I was crazy. I merely relied on memories to fill the void. Such memories as my grandmother's chocolate chip cookies are the only thing I smell whenever any type of cookie is...

My girlfriend absolutely refuses to help me

smell clothes, or possibly bad foods because she says it's gross. We live together and it's really frustrating knowing that she can help but chooses not to. It's caused serious arguments more than once. Does anyone have a similar experience or advice?
