Just curious what type of medication anyone takes. I'm on metformin right now. I heard that it actually makes you more fertile. Has anyone else heard that? god i hope thats not true...

The Good News: Metformin does not make you more fertile. Diabetic medication, including Metformin, helps to effectively control your blood sugar usually for several years. Then, your doctor will increase your dosage or change medications.

The Bad News: These medications do not address the root cause of your diabetes, so your diabetes continues to progress (quietly) and gradually breaks down your body, leading to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, more weight gain, fatigue; and, then, blindness, amputation, kidney failure, heart attack or stroke.

More Good News: But, you can prevent the onset of these complications and even reverse your diabetes as I did.

As a diabetes educator and health coach, I am now helping other diabetics address the Number 1 reason why they are diabetic and I am not: "the lack of the proper knowledge".

Hopefully, you will choose to become a "victor of wellness" instead of a "victim of disease".

May God bless you on your journey to wellness.

The Engineer

I am also on Metformin. It does not help you get fertile but it does up your risk of being able to get pregant when your diabetes is undercontrol. The chance is slightly higher then before. hope this helps.

Actually studies show that metformin causes gradual damage to the liver and kidneys ...
