Complex Partial Seizures With Some Generalization

The types of seizures I have aren't exactly the type that most people think of when they think of a seizure...I don't fall down on the ground and jerk.  Those are generalized seizures, which are the most well-known. Partial seizures start in a single part of the brain. ...

    Small? I Think Not.

I have Petit Mal Seizures. People are talking to me and all of a sudden the sounds blurs or mutes completely and then I black out mentally, not physically. People find me rude and call me "space cadet". *pout*. I think it links in with my Cerebral Palsy. My current...

I just posted a question on sensory overload,

but I also want to write about it in this group. Does anyone with epilepsy or seizures get sensory overload if they try to watch a movie? I've heard that fireworks can be triggers, but people don't say much about movies.

Hello everyone. When I was about 9 yrs old I

was diagnosed with epilepsy. now, 15 yrs later, I have been diagnosed with 2 (possibly 3) other forms as well. They hit me very hard in 2009 and I ended up having close to about 800-1,000 seizures in 9 months, and missed 3 months of my senior year. Also landed myself in the...

I had a seizure today at my best friend's house.

Last thing I remember is sitting on the bed listening to music and then waking up on my side with my friend holding me like that and her mom too.

I Really Did Hit A Door!

I have tonic-clonic seizures, and have since I was 20. Usually a seizure will leave me sore and headach-y with a totally chewed up mouth. Not fun. But I still laugh about one episode I had.  I was getting up early in the morning for work, which is my danger zone. Sure...

St. Paul and an Irish tradition.

Before I cut and paste this from a website, I would like to say that I believe the human brain functions a little differently in people who have epilepsy. I don't think their visions are necessarily hallucinations (although some might be), but I think they might be more prone...

    I Wish I Didn't

It just seems to be the case that it will never go away. I wish I was never in a near-death experience or at least didn't develop them afterwards. In order to be accepted by society, I need to drive (don't know if that will ever occur). Maybe at least if I was female, I wouldn't...

Seizure, Panic Attack, Or Something Else?

First, let me review everyone about what my complex partial seizures are usually like.  It says in one of my earlier stories.  I start out having an aura, which for me is a flashing light in my right eye.  I often have an aura without the seizure (i.e., if I miss...
