    Through a Microscope

The first time I noticed them was in my microbiology class when I looked through a microscope.  I did not know what it was and asked another student if he saw anything on the slide that was moving.  He didn't of course.  What I see looks like translucent worms that...

    Floaters Can Be Hell

When I was a kid I remember seeing floaters but then life moved on and I never really noticed them till one day I started to see them constantly. It was such a shock and disturbance to me that I was on the slippery slop of depression and developed severe...

I've been having them pretty bad over the last year or so. It's gotten to the point where I actually try and avoid moving my eyes too much because I know if I do I'll get loads of them swimming across my vision. When I do move my eyes I've started automatically blinking like...

    Since I Was 12...

I've had floaters since I was 12. I am nearly 52. I kept it a secret until I was 16...and was very frightened and thought I would go blind. I went to the ophthalmologist and my eyes were examined and the doctor said there was nothing wrong with my eyes, that many people have...

My Floaters Have Always Been There....

...probably almost 50 years now....have had them for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I enjoyed playing with them, making them dance around the room.  I just got used to them. I also have a little "spot" on my retina that the doc keeps an eye on...

For me, it's like having television static in front of my eyes all the time!  I can't stand it!  Everything swirls like when you lose the cable channels.  It's not ridiculously noticeable during the day, when there's light and colors, but at night when all the...

    It's Creepy

I have always had floaters in my vision, and it's never bothered me because I just haven't really took much notice. I've seen ophthalmologists and not one bad word has ever been said about my eyes, apart from my visual impairment, caused by a Syndrome I have called Moebius...

Oh My! I've Been Trying To Tell People About My Floaters Forever!

Having floaters is something that is difficult to explain to people who don't. I've gotten strange looks and even comments like 'Just rub your eyes, they'll go away.' I was able to explain to my husband about floaters while watching an episode of Family Guy!

    Seeing Things

I've had these forever.  I got glasses right before 7th grade and remember them asking if I saw anything like how floaters are described.  Thinking that admitting to seeing them would mean something bad, I have always denied having them. The past year or so they've...

    Floaters Are Driving Me Insane

Over the last year I've noticed that my floaters have got worse, in-keeping with  the progressive deterioration of my vision. My floaters have become so bad I can't begin to describe how bad these things are. I have several long threads in my left eye alone. I did get my...

Extremely Depressed And Despondent Over Eye Floaters

I do not know what to do. These floaters are so bad. In the natural sunlight,no matter how dreary or bright, I see the floaters: Snakes, cobwebs, shadows falling over my eye. I have been to an Opthamologist and a Specialist twice, and I am about to fax them to ask for their...

I have chased good vision like Ahab chased the white whale, starting with cornea transplants in 03 and 06, with cataract surgeries after that. I could finally see like Lee Harvey Oswald and was really having fun when, one day in Wal Mart, I noticed lightning bolts in my right eye...

    Hi Guys!

I'm currently thirteen years old. I've had floaters since I was 12. it's horrible, mainly because of the fact that I feel so helpless. I've even slipped into depression once because of them. I hate the fact that I will have to continue to live with this for the rest of my life. I...

I have vitreous floaters.  As I understand it, it's not uncommon for someone who's severly myopic to have them, and I was severely myopic.  (Yay for LASIK!)  I've had the most noticable one for about 3 yeears, and it's not all that bothersome. They're pretty cool...
